    Ok

    • Written by from Wauchula

I trust putting my iPhone 4s in it, but I put something behind my iPad when I put it in.
The docking station does not offer support for the back of the iPad.

On a more positive note, the docking station does not take up to much space.

No adaptor for Australian use is supplied (even though it was bought through the Australian Apple Store).

    Good iOS Charger

    • Written by from Lansdale

I bought this to be able to charge my iPad and iPhone at the same time. The coin/key/etc. area is clever, but I never use it. I guess it's because the charger is in the living room. Over all, it works great charging iPads and iPhones with cases, but it's a little more of a struggle with the iPad. It's tough to align with the Smart Cover on. It also doesn't fit quite right when the Smart cover is open and wrapped around the back. It's also quite pricey, hence the four star rating.

Can't handle cases, seems flimsy, not easy to dock in

    • Written by from Ottawa

    1. Cannot handle an iPhone case, or iPad case (even the basic Apple flip/magnetic case)

    2. Overall the docking feels flimsy - cheapily made.

    3. It's not the easiest thing to dock into - especially for an ipad . You have to pay close attention because the connector (sticking up) moves around easily - it tends to clean forward which means you can't just drop in an ipad without focusing.

Crazy People! I love this dock!

    • Written by from Toronto

A lot of people have made scathing reviews about the instability of this product.

Please. Think a little before you post.

    1. The base itself is sturdy, solid and heavy enough that I trust my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 on it together.

    2. Many people said that the two docking ports were "unstable." They're not unstable. That's like saying the apple magnetic laptop battery connector is "unstable" because it pops out easily. It's MEANT to, people! To avoid damage!

The ports on this base *intentionally* rock about half an inch to allow for you to pull your phone/iPad off from any angle without accidentally causing damage to your phone or iPad, or to the dock itself.

    3. Many people also said they were annoyed that they couldn't plug in their iPad with a case on. Well. Come on. Even the standard Apple iPad stand/docking station doesn't allow you to plug the iPad in, even with just the magic cover on it. Dock makers have to go with the thickness specifications of the iPad, not the specifications of the iPad with potentially many different thicknesses of cases and covers... so do yourself a favour, get a case or cover that pops off easily, and be happy with a rockin' dock.

    4. I love the fact that unlike its competitor, the iphone doesn't block the iPad. I frequently have shows on in the background while I'm designing, and I like the fact that my iPhone doesn't block my view of the iPad while they're both plugged in.

    5. The little change/keys cubby is unbelievably adorable. :)

    Terrible broke in 1 day

    • Written by from Ayr

Not sturdy at all. Go it for Christmas and 2nd time I put my ipad in it it broke, the charger connector broke and when you put it on the dock now it falls through. Back to the apple store we go.

    lovely idea looks brilliant

    • Written by from Newtown

I love this stand the iPad and iPhone fit on the stand with cases on both. The little dip is brilliant for keys or change, But and its quite a big but, once charged the iPhone didn't last the full day, i would be on about 20% by 5pm. once i charged the iPhone on the original charger it was back to 50% by 5pm. I don't understand it.

    Good Base Station & Charger

    • Written by from Island Heights

For starters this base is sturdy on it's own. When you put the iPad on it the iPad sits a bit flimsy but the base still stays sturdy. Both 16 pin connectors are raised up and with my iPhone 4's minimalistic case (Body Glove) I do not have to remove the case and it still fits and charges. My daughters iPod Touch (4th gen) bulky case (Otter Case) with its 16 pin rubber cover can be folded back and also still charge. We do not use a case with the iPad-2 but it fits fine. As others have reported, the 16 pin connectors are loose meaning they move front to back but this feature is a positive thing so as you can't break the 16 pin connectors and makes for easier docking of your devices!!
All in all this is a good product with a fitting price tag and looks nice as well.

    Love it.

    • Written by from Anchorage

This charger is great, super convenient with the holder it sits right by my front door for my wallet and iphone. Love that I can either charge two iphones or the ipad and iphone on it. I would buy it again! At first I was worried that the connecters seemed a bit loose, but I've had it a year and it has held up beautifully, not a single problem.

    Dont buy this product !!!!!!

    • Written by from staten island

My family is an apple one with the kids with iPods my wife and I with iphones&ipads ,so I was looking at the reviews on docking stations ,I went with the griffin power dock dual ,boy was it a Mistake!!! What a challenge to try docking my iPads (if your iPad iPod has a protective case forget about trying to dock it ..you NEED to remove it from case each time!) .....the pin head it's very flimsy, you feel like your going to brake it when pressure is applied ,and believe me you need to apply pressure to seed it ..it not worth the effort with this docking station,,,

    Devices don't fit well

    • Written by from Holtsville

I like the concept of a dual charger. But the 30-pin connectors are loose in the dock and it takes some effort to connect the devices comfortably. I felt like I was going to break both my iPhone and iPad 2 (which Griffin says is supported by this dock) when connecting them. I was hoping for a quick docking product - easy on/easy off but it seems to take a lot of care and effort to put on and remove without the feeling you are going to break something inside.

    I am returning this item.

    Works well

    • Written by from Owen Sound

Charges the iPad and iPhone4 quickly and easily. You can see both screens while charging so can have a slideshow going. Cuts down a lot of wire clutter.

Both my wife and I have these PowerDocks. We also both use the Apple iPad case and a Griffin case on our iPhones. No problem or need to remove the cases when using this charger. We simply did not install the front clear plastic strip that was supplied loose. That gave us lots of room for the cases.

    Good and Bad..

    • Written by from Maple Shade

I got this dock so that I could charge my iphone 4 and ipod along with my ipad. However, the ipad does not fit on the dock with a case on it. I did not attach the plastic "bumpers" which allowed for me to leave my iphone's case on. It allowed me to keep 2 of my cases on it (kate spade polka dot, and a case-mate), i did not try with my other ones.

However, I ended up returning it after having it for just short of 2 weeks. Thought i could spend my money on something better. I'll wait for a better dock to come out ...

Don't buy if you use a case

    • Written by from San Jose

Product will not work with the iPhone4 bumper case as it does not make enough of a connection to be able to charge. The only way I could get it to charge was if I manually held the iPhone down. However, as soon as I let go it would stop charging.

As for the iPad with standard apple case, unless you spend 30 seconds+ trying to get the iPad in just the right way the charger will not make a proper connection.

Ultimately there is no point to have a charger that cannot charge my products without having to take everything out its case, so I returned this within hours of my purchase.

Won't work if products are in cases (even apple bumper)

    • Written by from Farmington Hills

This product would be nice, except for the fact that the iPhone and iPad can't be in a case. When I ordered I explained that the iPhone was in a bumper and the iPad was in the Apple portfolio. The dock will not allow for that type of setup.

    Nice Charger

    • Written by from Houston

Was hesitant to spend this much on a charger, espiecially with no reviews, but am glad I did. It fits my Ipad (Apple case) , and Iphone conveniently together on my nightstand; replacing my alarm clock. The base slightly amplifys music and provides a nice place to put my car keys.

Rated it 4 stars because I wish the connection to the Ipad was sturdier, if I touch it will sometimes stop charging; this is a charging station and not a stand though so it serves its purpose well.

    Great dock.

    • Written by from ALBUQUERQUE

This is a really cool dock. I use it to charge my iPad and iphone4 I don't use a case for ether one so they both connected fine. I tried my friends ip4 bumper case and there was just too much bulk at the bottom. So unless you have some super thin case, this might be a deal breaker. My only other complaint is that it is very light so as you are undocking a iPad the whole thing will come with it so hold it down. Since there are very few chargers for both a iPad and iPhone there is not a lot to compare it to. So I'm giving it 4 stars. Could of been better. Looks cool sitting on my desk and it works.
