Up in running in 5 minutes...

works exactly as advertised on my wife's new Macbook Pro 13 inch. just a quick set up for the audio(follow directions that came with it). then open the "displays" to select 1080p. i did have to switch from using my Bose speakers back to the TV speakers to get sound, but that's no big deal...just push a button. Satisfied!

    Excellent!

Video on HD TV is amazing. Shows at the maximum resolution your graphics card/computer puts out. Great color. Works great for viewing iphotos on TV. For movies also carries sound to TV. Works great!

13" Air DV port doesn't drive audio, but great picture.

Great video, but the Macbook Air 13" MiniDV port doesn't drive audio. Not Moshi's fault, but be aware of the limitation when using the the Air.

    Very Poor

    • Written by from Arlington

Bought this product and after 19 days it failed. If the wire moves slightly when it's plugged in the TV goes completely staticy, completely black, gets no signal, or flashes stripes of white near the top of the screen. Sometimes I'll get lucky and it will work fine, but this has happened very rarely as of today (19 days after purchase). I'd try and avoid this and find another solution, even if it requires multiple dongles.

    Great Product

    • Written by from Charlevoix

Extremely good product, first time i plugged in it worked perfectly, good resolution as well as sound quality. Also great build quality! I thought this product was a little overpriced, but it's made to last and it is very user friendly, the only thing i had to do was change my sound settings in system preferences to output sound to my tv. Once again great product, i would recommend to any body wanting to use a bigger screen for there computing.

    Works just like it says

This adapter works great. I have an iMac that I bought in mid 2010. It sends video and audio to my 42" HDTV without a glitch. Adapter looks very well built too.

    choppy performance

    • Written by from Edison

works fine when the audio/video are not sporadically cutting out. not sure if it's a problem with my mac, the moshi, my surround sound system, the hdmi cable, or the tv itself....ps3 works fine on the tv, but his adapter seems to be the issue. tried fiddling with connections (which i wouldn't think i'd have to do)...but still cuts out periodically. not too pleased. anyone else have this issue and find a way to fix it?

Every Thing on The Big Screen

    • Written by from Goodrich

Works awesome, I've only had it for about a day but makes it awesome to sit your laptop next to your TV and sit in the recliner to browse the web on the flat screen. Only problem is audio doesn't work out of the box you have to do a little set up(less than 30 seconds to do), besides that it's awesome.

    Great Product

Had product for 5 months now and now problems. Really great picture quality on my projector to a 90" screen. Easy to read fine words and items. I would definitely prefer this over the VGA adapter, which I have also.

    Does exactly as advertised

    • Written by from Whitehall

This adapter does exactly as advertised. It delivers HDMI video and audio from your Mac to TV and it does it quite nicely too! Now the caveat. You have to have a computer that was made mid 2010. If you read some of the other reviews, you will find how you can see if yours is golden. I have it running through my Denon AVR and works fantastic.

To set up: After you plug it in, you go to System Preferences. Go to Sound, output tab and select your source as it will recognize it. Then through System Preferences, go to video and make sure you have mirror checked marked. From there you should be good to go.

My only minor complaint is that the instructions will tell you how to set up audio but will not go into video.

Otherwise, this little gadget works like a champ.

    Poor product

    • Written by from Rochester

I bought this product for my 27' Imac. Streaming movies and tv shows to my TV: my audio skips from time to time. The picture would turn green (every 20 mins or so) and the screen would go black for a few seconds. For the price, I would expect this to work flawless.

    great product

    • Written by from Walnut

i just got the product and tried hooking it up with my tv. it works with VLC and Quicktime. To the reviewer below, you have to change your audio settings in vlc to turn on the Use S/PDIF and force detection. It'll work then.

    Cheers

Got it to work with VLC Player!

    • Written by from Toronto

Product works flawlessly, I'm posting my VGA adapter on Craigslist as we speak. To make it work with VLC, you have to do two things:

    1) Open System Preferences, choose "Sound", Select "Output", and choose "Built-In HDMI Output"
    2) Open VLC player, choose "Audio", go to "Audio Device", then choose "Built-In HDMI Output"

Hope this works for you guys. Now I can stop dragging my Aux cable between my car and TV.

I bought this to hook up my 27'' iMac to a Vizio TV. It works flawlessly. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a tv as a second display.

    Satisfied

    • Written by from Covina

I was skeptical at first, because of the few negative reviews.
Some people were saying the audio doesn't work and so on.
However, if you just follow the instruction that comes with the product, there is no problem. It works great and I'm loving it.
    Worth the money.

    no audio

    • Written by from Sandy

I was very disappointed that this does not work with my late 2009 macbook pro. There is no setting to set the audio output to the tv. My daughter has a mid 2010 and it works fine. Does anyone know if this is a software issue or does the mini display unable to send audio?
