what is the best word processor for mac
I am new to mac. my favorite word processor for Windows was the earlier versions of WordPerfect, but I find it as lagged. I need compatibility with endnote and Mathtype (or equivalent) and would like easy switching of input languages.

Answer
I use Microsoft Office 2008 on my older Macs at home and Office on my Intel based laptops and the Macvat school. I am a mathematician and need the features of symbolic capability and other necessary reference identifiers. I get all I need with Word. Colleagues with more publication needs use the software sold thru the American Mathematical Society. Also, Mathtype is available for use with Mac OS.

MacKeeper has "popped up" on my computer...is this an Apple product?????
This is the first time I have had any unwanted pop ups to do with cleaning up my computer hard drive. I am just not sure if its a scam or not. They claim I need it - badly!
Please help - if this is not a legitimate Apple product do you have anything similar, or better yet do I even need anything???? My system seems to be okay for me.- Asked by Ron S from Parksville

Answer
Yes, the new macbook pro would be excellent, however, if you are just doing data entry/ accounting (namely text based stuff), the macbook air is a lighter, cheaper option that will be plenty fast and powerful for your needs.

13" pro retina or 13" air for programmers and web developer
Hi there,
I am thinking of buying either 13 pro retina or 13 air.
I am programmer (java, javascript, PHP and markup languages) and not quite sure what to go for.
Apps i will mainly use:
Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Powerpoint
IDE apps: Eclipse, notepad++ and Xcode
localhosted servers: XAMPP
Occasionally Adobe products: Photoshop and Illustrator (for web design)
and other typical internet activities...
I am interested in both, because:
The air is cheaper and very portable, but does not have retina (I would prefer to have new techs)
Specs of pro retina is great, nice design nearly as portable as air which is great, but it is little bit more expensive.
Do you reckon my requirements would be suitable for pro? (which is investing for the future) or just go for the air because that is enough?
Many thanks- Asked by Jonathan P from Nonthaburi

can i run Quickbooks Pro 13 on my Mac
I purchased Account Edge software a few years ago, and it as not as user friendly as Quickbooks. Everyone I do business with uses Quickbooks, and it would make it simpler and cost effective to use Quickbooks Pro 2013. Will I be able to run this program, without a lot of hiccups, with all of my Mac products. I have desktop, Macbook Pro laptop, IPad, iPhone, and that is why switched over to Apple, so that everything syncs, and it is "idiot" proof. I am better when everything flows, and runs smoothly.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you for your help. :)

Which mac is convenient for programming
I am a Software developer who has never used mac. However, I wanted to use mac for the next project (Mainly using Ruby on Rails and Java). Its a very small project.
What I need
1) Portability : Laptop is better than desktop for me
2) Not expensive: as long as two laptops offer the same speed for my project , I would take the cheapest one
3) Size. Prefer 17' if not 15'.
Based on my criteria what do you recommend me?
