What is the lightning on the 5th generation ipod
- Asked by Taylor L from Harrisburg

Best Answer
The "lightning" is a new type of connector that is going to replace the 30-pin adapter that the later Apple devices have installed in them. It is much smaller, apparently transfers data faster, and is reversible, which means you can plug it in upside-down. It is now on the iPad 4, iPad Mini, iPod touch 5th Gen, and iPad Nano 7th Gen.

Does the iPod Nano (7th g) track calories burned using your heart rate (via heart-rate monitor),or simply based on generic formula of height & weight?
I am considering purchasing a Bluetooth Smart Chest Transmitter so that I can get an accurate heart rate and calorie burn. I am assuming that using the iPod Nano (7th g) Fitness setting is only estimating my calories burned based on the height and weight that I programed into it. Has anyone tried using a Bluetooth Transmitter with their 7th generation iPod?
- Asked by Jenifer S from Arlington

Answer
The 7th generation iPod nano is compatible with Nike+iPod heart rate monitors. Out of the box, the iPod nano uses your provided height and weight to track calories burned, but you can pair it with a heart rate monitor that is compatible with Nike+iPod.

Which iPod has the best pedometer for running trails?

Best Answer
The iPod nano is the only iPod with a built-in pedometer feature. iPhones and iPods can act as pedometers as well, but need to have 3rd party apps installed from the App Store in order to do so.

Answer
It is safe to drain the battery. In fact, it is recommended that you completely drain the battery once a month on any mobile device in order to maintain good battery health and to recalibrate the battery.

welllll, you can use the personal hotspot on another device, using internet from that device e.g phone. and connect your ipod onto that network through bluetooth or wifi, personal hotspot is probably the only other option due to the fact that it cannot use a 3G or a LTE network of its own.
