And also besides serving as a router it will also backup my macbook pro wirelessly via time machine?

Using TC to transfer everything from old Powermac G3 to a new iMac
I want to replace my wife's old Powermac G3 (iOS 10.4) with a new iMac. Can I backup all files to a Time Capsule then upload to the new computer. Thinking I'll get a Time Capsule anyway since I have an iMac, iPad/Phone also.

What is the easiest way to backup my PC files & trf to my Mac using the time capsule.
I have purchased a Macbook Pro and a Time Capsule to replace my old desktop PC.
We have all of our photos stored on our old PC and I would like to transfer these to our new Macbook, for two main reasons.
1) To use the editing facilities available on the Macbook through some of the excellent software provided, and
2) More importantly, to link with the Time Capsule so that all of our irreplaceable photos are permanently backed up to allay our fears of losing them, and for piece of mind that any additions will automatically be backed up.
I would really appreciate a quick guide on the easiest solution to extract the files from the PC to the Macbook and Time Capsule, without any requirement for any additional hardware, if possible.- Asked by Alan & Lisa A

can you have multiple time capsules on the same network?
Looking to replace my first gen Time Capsule with a newer model with more HDD and dual-band capacity. Can I keep my old TC on the network when I upgrade to the new one and put the old one in bridge mode to expand the wireless network? And can I backup to BOTh devices, either redundantly or assigning different devices to different TC’s?
In terms of dual-band, am I better off using the old TC to create a separate network for b/g devices and use the new one exclusively for n devices, or will the new one handle dual-band adequately so the b/g signals won’t slow down n devices?- Asked by Jason S from Cranbury

two macs, one time capsule?
I have two macBooks, want to maintain separate disk images for each machine through my Time Capsule, can I do it and how?
or should I even bother since I built my new MacBook Pro off the disk image of my old MacBook and it worked great, if the new machine crashes I'll have an image and can restore to the old machine, and if the old machine craters I'll have the image from the new one to restore to another new machine?

If MacBook is stolen, how is a replacement restored using a time capsule?
Hey I have a Macbook Pro and thinking about buying a Time Capsule to have my date backed up.
If my laptop was to be stolen, or broken beyond repair, does the Time Capsule enable me to replicate exactly what was on my old Mac Book to a brand new one? Im thinking on the same lines as when you plug in a new iPhone into Itunes and it asks you if you want to restore from a previos phone?
Cheers

If using the time capsule as a router, can I limit who on the network has access to the hard drive portion of it?
I am interested in getting the Time Capsule to use as a wireless router in my house to replace the piece of junk one I have and to have large storage capacity. My problem is I have roommates who would also be using the same network, but I wouldnt want them to have access to the data I would store on it. Is there any way I can configure it to work as a router for all roommates but limit access to its hard drive/storage capabilities to just myself?
Furthermore, if instead I were to continue to use my old router (a linksys), is there any way to set up the Time Capsule as a wireless repeater to strengthen the signal in my bedroom on the other side of the house?
One more thing....does anyone have any experience using this router outside of the US? Ive got decent/normal internet connectivity from my ISP but I wouldnt want to get a time capsule if it could potentially not be compatible with a non-US service provider. Thanks.- Asked by Tim W from Chester

Can i mirror two computers via a time capsule?
I have a 27" iMac and a 13" Macbook Pro and i want to have both computers to be clones of each other. I want everything that is on my iMac to be on my Macbook and vise vera. Can this be done?
I spoke with one of the guys at the mac store and got a "deer in the headlights" look. I can't believe i am the only one out here that would want this function. I just want all my data to be with me at all times. If i leave town for a day or two i still need to work so i still need my data on my macbook and when i get back to the office i need everything i worked on to show up on my iMac.- Asked by Dean T from Truth Or Consequences

Support for more than one hard drive hanging off the same 1 TB time capsule, via hub?
There are some other Q&A entries regarding this but they leave a few things ambiguous, so I thought I'd just explain my specific situation and hope someone will give me a clear yea or nay on what I hope to do.
I have a 1 TB Time Capsule, about a year old, and currently have a 2 TB Western Digital external drive attached via its USB port. I would like to add another 2 TB drive.
If I connect a powered USB hub to the TC's USB drive and then the two external drives to the hub, will I see both drives, as well as the TC's own, in the Time Machine configuration options? I will be routing Time Machine backups from an iMac to one of the external drives, and backups from other Macs in the house to the TC's drive and the second external drive.
Thanks for any help you can lend. I think it will work but want to be sure before I order the additional drive and hub.- Asked by Edward H from Boulder

Can an old Time Capsule be used as Hard Drive for media files so I can get a new TC for backup?
As I have gotten into editing and archiving family video, I have filled up my iMac's memory and my Time Capsule is also full. Can I "empty" the backup data from my original TC and direct my iTunes media to be stored there and then buy a new TC with more memory to resume by backups?
If I do this, will all my media still be "visible" to AppleTV so I can still access it via AppleTV and be able to stream it to my entertainment system?
If so, how do I remove all the backup data from the original TC?- Asked by Patrick G from Cambridge
