Elgato Turbo.264 HD Video Encoder

Does this work only with its own software, or will it work with any software(eg. wondershare video convetor) that converts video into a h264 file.

There are many applications on the web that are for converting from one video format to another. I use a few of these and would like files that I convert to h264 to be faster.

Most of the videos I am converting from are dvd I have. I use wondershare video convertor pro for ripping from dvd to h264 for my apple tv.

If Elgato Turbo.264 HD video encoder only works with its own software, then I have no need for it.

    The product will work with FCB Compressor. Not sure about what other apps it works with.

    The App that comes with it is unique, so far as I can tell because it will accept and deMux MPEG2 (DVD) files as well as accept AVCHD. Quicktime and FCP will not do this directly.

  • It comes with its own software, but also works with certain software applications that have been optimised to use the encoder. I do not know if the software you mention is included. Check the Elgato website for latest details.
