Why is this so expensive if it's just a display?

I'm just wondering, does this have any other uses? i.e can I use it as a TV?
This is NOT a stupid question - think about it - it is a THOUSAND dollars, and it's just a display, a big shiny tv. Without ANY other purpose. You can get 50" plasma/LED Smart tvs for that amount of money!
Can this be used for anything else? I'm NOT buying it if it's just a screen.

  • You can put anything on it that your computer is capable of putting on it. No it isn't a TV.

    Not all computer displays are created equal. This one in particular also acts as a hub of sorts as well as has speakers in it. This display is for people who need accurate and stable color. If you are wanting a tv this is not for you.
