I don't usually play WoW, but I've seen and tried it before on my MBP , and I am an avid SC2 player. I run the game on a mid-2009 2.26 MBP 13" with an Nvidia 9400. I believe you are looking at has Intel HD3000 Graphics. Using 4gb of RAM, a Dual Core 2.26 w 2 mb of L2 cache, as well as an Nvidia 9400M. This gets me ultra settings on SC2 minus shaders, kept on low. I use high textures. I receive anywhere from 7-70 FPS, the lowest being on huge 4v4 battles, and the highest being one when I monitor my mineral lines in the beginning of the game. SC2 is made by blizzard, and they are good about making their games low-power friendly. I imagine that at medium to high settings and medium shaders, you could get consistently good FPS with SC2, as well as WoW, which is a low-stress game. My fans only kick in on big battles with either game.
As far as future proof goes, no computer is. Apple makes good computers that last, and they function as good gaming computers if you choose the right models. Scour youtube with the search topic "SC2 on MBP 13" 2011", and you will get videos. I cannot provide links due to the Terms of Use, however they should be apparent. SC2 runs well on the new MBP's, and should be smooth even on the Macbook Air. Games like CoD2 MW2 and CoD4, and CoD Blops, Dragon Age Origins and DA:2, and GTA, all those (and perhaps Diablo III) will run well on medium-ish settings on these notebooks. SC2 and other games run on high/ultra settings on the higher end 15" MBP's.
Those are my comments. If you have more questions, google and Apple make a great combination.- Answered by Ellery V from Friday Harbor
