Just an OK Case

At $79 I expected it to be a gorgeous leather and very functional, but it's not. It really does not feel like leather at all, and I just have not been able to prop the iPad up on a table with the case, the way that I expected I could.. I am thinking about returning it for a refund. …

Great case; really adds to the iPad Air

They brought one out from t I decided to get this case after asking an Apple employee if I could see one 'in action' so to speak. They brought one out from the back that had an iPad Air in it. I immediately decided to get it. I have prior experience with the Smart Case for a previous iPad (3) and didn't like it because the lip at the top seemed wide, clunky, and bulky. It could be that the new smaller form factor of the iPad Air allows it's Smart Case to be more pleasing. The top lip is narrow (like the bezel) and you hardly notice it. For my previous iPad I had both the Smart Case and a Smart Cover which I used in combination with a Belkin Snap Shield Secure. The Belkin case is a low profile shell (for the back) that was designed to accept the Smart Cover. I bring this up because it was my intention to use both setups and alternate them but since I disliked the older Smart Case so much I ended up never using it. For this new Smart Case, this is the only case I intend to get as I really like it. It's pricey as leather is the only choice, but if I had gotten the less expensive Smart Cover, I would have gotten an additional shell for the back so there would be extra cost there. I don't mind paying a little extra for a good solution like this. …

Comparing to the quality of previous cases, this one is not what expected. The fact that it only has a 3 way folding makes it real Comparing to the quality of previous cases, this one is not what expected. The fact that it only has a 3 way folding makes it really bad in terms of support. It keeps falling off and very difficult to stand up.
Would definitely not recommend it and suggest going for something else probably cheaper but better quality. …

WILL NOT protect your iPad from a 3ft fall
Despite the negative reviews about this case, I made the decision to get it for what I believed to be the "craftsmanship". I learn Despite the negative reviews about this case, I made the decision to get it for what I believed to be the "craftsmanship". I learned things the hard way and am writing this review so hopefully you don't have to. My iPad Mini with Retina display took a 3ft plunge and not only did the screen cover flip open but the iPad came completely OUT of the case, face down on the asphalt. I now have a brand new iPad with a cracked screen and a pitted frame. A case that claims such high stakes (and price) should be able to at least protect your $700 investment from a small fall. I now don't even want to look at my damaged iPad, much less the case. Will not only not recommend it, but go out of my way to warn people of the poor protection this case really offers. …
