I have had 4 of these in the past month and have had the same problem with each. The cord breaks very easily.
The cord breaks after some very normal use. Dont use your phone while it is charging because the cord breaks easily.

You should already have everything you need, but I'll run over it... You need a computer with iTunes You should already have everything you need, but I'll run over it... You need a computer with iTunes installed, a sync cable to connect the iPad to the computer, and of course the iPad. Fire up the computer and Itunes, then connect the iPad to the computer. Once ithe iPad connects and finishes syncing select it in Itunes. (It will appear in the upper right area of the screen once the computer detects it is connected) Now just click on the "Photos" tab. From there you can enable photo import to the ipad and choose which folders on your computer to import. After you do that click Sync and the folders & photos in them will import to the ipad. …

I have switched chargers and cables around in my collection without problem except when it came to u I have switched chargers and cables around in my collection without problem except when it came to using the Travelovity set I bought for the nifty retractable cord. I thought it was defective until I discovered that it put out 5 watts only and the iPad requires 5.1. It wouldn't even trickle-charge it. It's 5.1 or nothing. It charged my phone just fine.
