Its a privacy filter. It darkens the screen dramatically, and prevents viewing from the sides. I was looking more for an anti-glare screen cover like i have on my iPhone(my fault, not product's). I rated this 3 stars because I don't particularly like it. It attaches with adhesive strips, which I don't like. It darkens the screen, and makes things difficult to see, which I don't like. Dust and other stuff does get between the screen and the guard, which I don't like. I cant give this less than 3 stars, because it performs as advertised, but I can't give it 5, because I don't like it. If I was looking for a privacy filter, I'd have given it 4 stars because it darkens the screen a lot, and I do a lot of photo/video stuff and have to get super close to the screen to see well. For the price, I wouldn't recommend for a screen protector. …

I had to modify the screen to fit for the camera and this shouldn't need to be done.. I completed the survey and asked to be contacted but that was 4 week ago. HOWEVER it comes with sticky strips which you have to apply to the sides. If you frequently take the privacy screen off as I do (why have a Retina HD screen and not get the full benefit when you don't need the privacy??!!) these sticky strips at the side VERY QUICKLY become 'un-sticky'. Do you think that you can buy replacement sticky strips......? Of course not - it's another £44 for a whole new screen!!!! And correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it the case that 3M are well-known for, amongst other things, adhesives?
Do NOT buy this product unless you are going to stick it on, and never take it off. …

Amazing screen protector for everyone who needs a little privacy !
I bought this product a year ago to use it on my school work and my job when editing pictures and/or editing footage on public pla I bought this product a year ago to use it on my school work and my job when editing pictures and/or editing footage on public places, and it really does the work. I've had friends telling me that they can't even see my screen when they are sitting right next to me.
Of course as every other product this has it's flaws. I'll explain that in a bit but first let me tell you the things I really liked about this product. When you barely buy it, a set of accessories are included on the package. Things like a cleaning cloth, a plastic folder to put it back once you don't need it (the screen protector), a set of stickers that are installed on the screen and a manual of the product. There are 3 stickers that you apply to your screen protector which make it stick to your Mac Book screen and it will stay there for as long as you please. For me it lasted a couple of weeks (I'll explain in a bit) but I started noticing that over time it started getting dirty on the other side of screen protector (as the stickers stay on the edge of the screen which means there is gonna be a tiny gap between the screen and the protector; so over time dust will collect inside of it). As I mentioned the screen protector stickers only lasted a couple of weeks with me because I needed to take out the screen protector to work on assignments for my school and job such as editing a project(film) which needs me to see clearly what's happening with the image. So I had to remove the screen protector which first I thought was not gonna be a problem since the company advertise this product as being able to take it out once you need to clean it and having the liberty of just being able to install it back. But that was not the case, the stickers once I took them out lose their sticky material and didn't work again and even 1 of them staid on my laptop screen. Which was a bit frustrating since they only give you 1 set of the stickers. So after that point I had to use the screen protector without stickers and it's really difficult since I can only use when my mac book is on a 90 degree position. If the company would give out more sets of stickers I would gladly give this product a 5 star.
P.S: To the other customers it makes no sense why you would buy a product expecting it to keep your laptop crispness with a privacy filter. That is impossible the material is way too thick. Decide one thing or the other, the are plenty of other screen protectors that will do the job if clarity is what you're looking for. …

NOT REALLY A PRIVACY FILTER

In other words the filter works ok when you move horizontally away from the screen to the right or left, it does not work at all vertically if you stand up in front of the screen...

I wanted this product for the anti-glare aspect, not for privacy. One side of the filter is for anti-glare, and the other side is for privacy. I have a 2009 13" MacBook Pro and the filter does not fit properly. It comes with two-sided tape for attaching it; I was expecting the kind that uses static to attach. You need to tape the filter to the screen so it covers everything and doesn't fall off, but doing this leaves about a half inch of the MacBook Pro screen unprotected around the perimeter. (The black border on the computer screen unprotected.)
In my opinion, using the anti-glare side of the filter does not cut the glare enough to justify how bad it makes the screen look. I would estimate it cuts the *resolution* at least by 30%. I would estimate that the filter cuts the *glare* by about 10%.
HOWEVER, the privacy side of the filter works as advertised; it blacks out the screen as the viewing angle widens, but you still need to tape it to the screen.
Even if this filter fit correctly, I would have still returned it because it doesn't cut the glare enough to justify lessening the resolution as much as it does.
However, if it fit correctly and I needed a privacy screen, this would be a good product. …

I was bit worried about the reduced brightness at first as the filter appears to be virtually much darker than I expected. However, when I put it on, it doesn't seem to affect much. I have the brightness slightly less than halfway in a room with normal light and it is more than enough for me. Note that I use the matt side (as I hate glare and reflection). Would have loved to compare it side by side with the glossy one but don't think there's a big difference.
All in all, the filter doesn't bother me at all with the brightness. …
