With the new piloting application, everything is simple and done wirelessly in an instant. For pilots looking to shoot longer videos, a USB plug-in has been added for larger recording storage.

Explore more
With the new AR.Drone 2.0-generated WiFi N Connection, you can fly as far as 50 metres away. The AR.Drone 2.0 pressure sensors on-board provide unique stability that will automatically correct and maintain a still position in the air regardless of altitude and wind up to 15 mph.
Join a community of pilots
Keep track of your flight data, location, photos and videos and share them with a community of other pilots from all over the world thanks to the AR.Drone Academy. Check who is flying in your neighbourhood or watch videos from pilots at the other end of the world.
Acrobatic
This flip move is exclusive to AR.Drone 2.0. Become a daring pilot and perform barrel rolls by simply hitting a button.
Indoor and outdoor hulls
The full hull shield protects the AR.Drone from impacts that occur during wild battles against enemies hidden in the rooms of the house. The streamlined coloured hull is aerodynamic, allowing greater control outside.
High durability and easy repair
AR.Drone is made of carbon fiber and high-resistance PA66 plastic. You can replace all parts for easy repair.
Augmented reality games
Not only can you see what the AR.Drone sees with the front-mounted camera, you can play a wide variety of games in augmented reality. AR.Games are available in the App Store in iTunes. Great product. Needs improvement. Read below.
Pros:
Very fun to play with.
Extremely durable shell.
Powerful motors.
Stops automatically if the blade is obstructed.
Easy t o replace individual parts.
Easy to understand instruction videos.
Several games for it on the App Store®
Unable to save pictures or videos. - Only pictures via screen shots.
Adjustable max altitude, tilt, and alt increase.
Gyroscope control or directional pad.
A lot of online support.
Easy to use interface.
Cons:
The battery only last for about 15 minutes and then needs to be recharged.
It doesn't handle well in light or strong wind.
The range isn't as good as i expected. It starts to skip at about 30-50ft, unobstructed.
The charge level lights on the charge indicator didn't work correctly.
After charging for hours and the charger indicated it was charged, when connected the system reported the battery at less than 50%. - The last two problems can be either a problem with the charger, with the battery, or both.
After a couple of crashes, some of the blades became loose and had a slight wobble. I couldn't fix them and it flew fine. It was only noticeable when the blades were spinning.
The indoor haul started to get torn up around the inside edge of the blade enclosures. Presumable because the blade digs into it when something is bumped.
Camera quality was ok. The front camera was about the same quality as camera on the back of an iPod Touch® or the front camera of an iPhone®. The bottom camera was not as good of quality. Reminded me of security videos they show on the news.
NOT good as a spy plane. It makes considerable noise.
Recommendation:
While this is a great product. It has much room for improvement. Before buying this you should research other options to be sure it is right for you. …- Written by Bradley C from Omaha

Great Fun
I had this up and flyig right after the battery was charged. Absolutely fantastic and fun to fly. This is incredible.
So far I cannot get my android motorola to connect the flight app to the unit. It says it can't find it, but I know that there is some setting lurking out there that I need.
For now I am using my ipad 1 and the free software to control it. Push a button - it takes off and hovers in position. Tilt the ipad and the unit tilts in the direction you do so it goes that way. release the button on screen and the unit levels itself and hovers.
Set maximum alt easily. Set max amount of tilt easilly. Push a buttton and it lands itself straight down.
This thing has enormous fun built in and the camera is fantastic. I haven't tried the games yet because I don't know anyone that has one besides me around here, but I have no doubt these will be a real hit. Especially as the open source apps come online and really open up the gaming.
I used to be a professional pilot. I love this thing …- Written by Dennis P from Eugene

AR Drone 2.0 - The ultimate fun......
My kids got me the AR Drone 2.0 for father's day from the Apple Online Store....Had the best father's day out at the beach with th is toy. It was so easy to control and responded to commands from my iPad without any delay. Very stable & easy to fly..i felt like en expert flying RC's after just 5mins. Very robust. I crashed twice but it left not even a hint that it crashed. Indoor use is even better. I can maneuver around furniture with great ease. But one now and enjoy it forever. Video functions works really well. Fun, Fun, Fun! …

Great Product, shame about FreeFlight
The actual hardware is great, and the applications available are good. However, I can't help feeling that FreeFlight should still be here. It was removed from the App Store over a patent dispute and the joystick control, although wonderfully precise, isn't anywhere near as fun as ducking and diving your iPad around. …

Buy this only if you own an android device
Ar freeflight 2,0 and intuitive tilt control....is not available on apple device and nobody know why and for how long. This is a r idiculous situation for a serious company. They dont tell about this on the parrot web site and on apple store. Android device work very well with absolute control, i would not be surprise that apple over protective politic is the main responsible of this situation.

Currently crippled for iOS devices.
This drone used to be great. It is now crippled on iOS as of some point in March when they "updated" their apps to disallow all th e cool functionality. No "intuitive" flying modes are available. Don't know already how to fly RC stuff really well? Don't buy this. …

Does this Parrot Ar 2.0 drone break down a lot
- Asked by Daniel C from Eau Claire
- Feb 26, 2013
Answer
Starting out as a novice and now after about 40 flights: While I have collected some scratches, the re have been no breakdowns, no parts to replace, and no decrease in performance. The indoor hull does its job (and it shows!) and the outdoor hull assumes the user is aware of any threatening obstacles.
Mine once did battle with a lampshade, and the lampshade had to be replaced, but the Drone was fine (and, perhaps I detected, a little smug, afterwards). Yes, it is tough. …- Answered by Walter C G from Austin

- Asked by Thomas G from Rochester
- Sep 24, 2012
Answer
yes you can fly just above the trees but I would not try it. losing a product like this would be a h uge waste of money. The drone can fly 160ft away from you and probably a little further but the connection may not last compared to what's around you. …
