  • Overview

    6400 dpi

    The Cyborg R.A.T.7 gaming mouse uses the latest generation "twin eye" laser sensor, which reads each axis separately for pinpoint accuracy and tracks up to a remarkable 6 metres per second. Pro gamers who favour low sensitivity with high movement speed preferences will always experience precise tracking.

    Lightweight aluminium chassis

    Strong yet nimble, the solid metal frame creates a core of enhanced rigidity for the Cyborg R.A.T.7 mouse.

    Custom weight system

    Change the weight of the Cyborg R.A.T. 7 to match your game play. In an instant you can add or subtract one or more of five 6-gram weights to achieve the perfect weight for a perfect feel. When you're not using the weights, you can safely stored them in the supplied storage container.

    Precision Aim mode

    Use the Cyborg ST Programming Software to set your desired Precision Aim speed (mouse sensitivity), then hold down the Precision Aim button to slow down mouse movement to a level that works for you. Hit your target the first time every time.

    Six programmable buttons

    Combine your programmable buttons with two regular left and right mouse buttons and you have a total of eight buttons available. Assign your choice of key gaming actions to programmable buttons to create your own custom profiles.

    Custom settings

    Use the rocker switch to toggle among your custom DPI settings. You can also toggle among three R.A.T. modes at the touch of a button. Change sensitivity or programmable button actions in an instant and get immediate access to an amazing 15 commands.

    Interchangeable grips and palm rests

    A range of three little finger grips and three palm rests let you select just the right feel for optimally comfortable gameplay.

    Powerful Cyborg ST programming software

    Change your dpi, set Precision Aim cursor sensitivity, create custom profiles for each game, assign commands to your programmable buttons, and more. Plus Expose, Dashboard, and Horizontal Scroll are all assigned to your forward, backward, and thumb scroll controls by default.

    I have the rat 5 , 7 and the rat 7 contagion...i love all the mouse and will continue to ..6400 dpi ,,fully customizable , great d I have the rat 5 , 7 and the rat 7 contagion...i love all the mouse and will continue to ..6400 dpi ,,fully customizable , great drivers for windows and mac , have lot of buttons and features 3 programmable mode and its a cyborg rat ( always been good to me) and has a glossy shiny white finish...I only gave 4 stars for this one mistake..the glossy white finish looks nice but feels cheap n plastic but i bought this mouse to game with it not stare at for hours... so if your a gamer or plan to use the pc for hours then beware of having dirt residue staying on your mouse and having sweat (if yu do) stick to the mouse due to its glossy finish...which makes it a hassle to clean..I only bring this up cause the standard rat mouses have a dull rough finish which feels great and have grip. Even the albino edition that is white with red details have the same dull rough finish ( this is how the mouse is suppose to be) ,have no idea why they made the contagion glossy and slippery but anywho if yu like the look of the contagion and want a gaming mouse go ahead and buy it but just make sure yu clean it regularly.

I use it for everything, from gaming, to word processing and surfing the web. Not only is this mouse smooth, but the ability to customize the length, parts and weight is spectacular. I never knew other mice were so uncomfortable until I used it.

  • A great upgrade from the R.A.T. 3

Most of the parts you touch directly are actually plastic, but the body itself is metal.
    The left and right click are quick and responsive. Specifically, the buttons near the thumb feel great (I wore them out on my RAT 3, so this was important to me). I haven’t used the precision sniping button yet but I am excited to do so. I like that you can adjust the effect on your DPI, the default (I believe) is a 50% decrease. The extra scroll near the thumb is a little weird, but after I set it to do left and right arrows, it can be useful on webpages that require horizontal scrolling, or cad like programs/adobe, etc.
    My ONLY COMPLAINT: At this point, my only complaint is that for whatever reason they decided to make this mouse glossy. While it looks nice, it feels greasy/slick. Not good for those with sweaty palms. Now, you can swap the palm and pinky wrests for a better feeling rubber coated parts that were included, which I did, and this does help a bit. However, the clicks and the thumb area are still slick. I have now become used to this, and it’s fine, but I miss the coating from the RAT3.
    Overall, I’m happy. I think this is a wonderful mouse and have no buyer’s remorse. The coating, at first, made me want to rate this a 4 1/2 stars, but after some use and swapping the optional pieces (something not many mice can do), I now firmly stand at 5 stars.

    * Awesome look, especially next to Apple keyboard.
    * Very precise sensor (first you have to get rid of broken native mac "brickwall" acceleration to appreciate it).
    * Durable cable.
    * Professional gliders.
    * Main buttons react perfectly.
    * Mac OS drivers.

    Cons:

    * Thumb pad - back/forward buttons are hard to reach without pushing thumb pad all way forward (which makes precision zoom unreachable) and palm pad almost all the way back (which makes main buttons hard to reach).
    * Not enough buttons - MMO model addresses this issue.
    * Grip - yes, in this all-configurable mouse grip is the weakness! Whole mouse is a little bit V-shaped and there is no proper hollow for pinkie and thumb to get a good grip in rapid backward movement. Even rubberized pinkie pad does not help. Such sleek, bulky and heavy mouse definitely needs better profiling, huge downgrade from my previous Logitech MX 510 here.
