    Another fantastic B&W Product

    • Written by from Monroeville

I've been a committed audio hobbyist for the past few years and have sampled many different types of on-ear, over-ear, and in-ear headphones, and these are some of the best buds that I've ever used. The C5's sound spectrum is complete across all levels; the accurate, punchy bass, smooth mids, and the open treble work together to provide for a wonderful listening experience. The passive audio-isolation manages to mask nearly all of the ambient noise around you. The fit of the buds might take a little getting used to with the cord that keeps the buds in the ear, but the adjustment curve is short and worth it; the C5's stay put better than any other bud that I've used. This Blows Me AWAY!!

    • Written by from NEW YORK

These are my favorite pair of headphones by far. I listen to all types of music ranging from classical Wolfgang, to Ne-Yo, to B.I.G., as well as foreign artists. I need Headphones that are not orientated towards one genre or another. Being that these headphones are so well balanced, i am able to hear the frictional tug of each string with the bow of the violin. Feel the bass rumbling through my entire body as i play sweat.
These are by far also the most comfortable headphones i have in my arsenal. (Even better than the Klipsch patented oval shaped ones, and those are wonderful) I have worn these to sleep like they were regular form-fitting earplugs.
I also run everywhere i go. I have a very active life style so i need headphones that wont fall out every time i decide to run across the street to catch a light or a bus. With the secure loop, i am able to do just that. And may i add, it is also very comfortable.
(May i add you can headbang with these?!)

    Wonderful

    • Written by from Minneapolis

I've owned the similar Bose in-ear headphones, and these blow them away. The secure loop is a very welcome innovation for keeping them actually *in* your ear. Sound quality is wonderful throughout the full range from low to highs. They do take a few hours listening to really start to sing, but that's normal for audio products. More

    Sound First, Design Second

    • Written by from New York

You're probably? B&W SHOULD be considering sound before design. Agreed. That being said, the experience of the amazing sound (yes, amazing) is totally diminished by the absolutely garbage design of these earbuds. Let be clear, by design I mean functionality. They are beautiful. The build quality is stellar. Price... a little expensive, but not terrible. Sound Quality... way better than any of the Bose garbage, Ultimate Ears Quad Armature marketing junk. These sound absolutely huge. I might... MIGHT enjoy these better than my B&W floor standers if they weren't so obnoxiously uncomfortable. After switching to Comply TX-400 foam tips, the comfort and sound level improved dramatically. Also, with a little tinkering, you can get the fit to be tolerable and you eventually get "used" to the discomfort. If sound quality is your primary concern, buy these. If comfort is your primary concern, well, buy them any way and see if you can get them to work for your needs, from Apple you'll have 14 days to test. Nothing to lose. They're definitely not a 5... but a solid 3.5/4 due to the fit. More

    Disappointing Sound Quality

    • Written by from Chicago

Having admired B&W speakers for years - and been a proud owner of the 801Fs - I was excited to replace my aging Bose earphones with the B&W C5s. To my unpleasant surprise they sounded tinny. I listen to classical and opera and the entire soundstage moved back 1000 feet. Strings sounded strident and the brass lacked punch. There was no bass to speak of. The Bose are far superior. Changing the ear tips is just about impossible. They will rip if you try. I'm sticking with the Bose - a far superior product. Too bad...and disappointing. More

Tried the rest, now I've tried the best.

    • Written by from mount isa

I've used many earphones over the years and most have disappointed me. The C5's are the most expensive earphones I've ever bought but they are also the best earphones I've ever heard. Many reviews claim the bass is overly powerful but I have not found that, the bass seems to be well balanced IMO. I find the mids seem to really stand out, vocals sound really amazing. Highs are very nice and thankfully don't come across too harsh. Overall a fantastic looking and sounding set of earphones. If your earphones aren't giving you the music quality you like then definitely invest in a pair of these babies! More
