Was not the right for me...

    • Written by from Daly City

I needed the four ports for: My printer, My Intuos4 table, my flash drive, and my external hard drive. The port only worked for my printer and external hard drive so when plugging in the other two ports, I got this message saying there wasn't enough power provided from the hub and that I needed to plug the hub in if it came with an adapter, which it did not. This hub is more for travel and for dinky extra flash drives when you're not at home (still confused how it can handle my external hard drive but not my xporter flash drive...). Anyways, this item will be immediately returned and I'll probably purchase the 4 port desktop hub that I'm sure can handle the job I need it to do. More

    Just works!

Not only is it small and compact, it was able to handle my most frequently used USB port devices simultaneously. Epson ME 200 (printing and scanning), Maxtor Basic 320GB external hard drive (for running my Windows 7 via VMware Fusion), KingMax 8GB flash drive, and a mouse. More

    Issues with product

    • Written by from Toronto

I had the same issues with this hub as JV. I'm not sure if it's a manufacture defect or that the hub can't handle much but I got the same notice when I tried using more than one port. In fact, even when I only use 1 port I still get the message that "The hub does not have enough power available to operate[...]". The only thing I found that works is plugging in the usb receiver for my wireless mouse. Aside from that, even on it's own (using only 1 port) it can't even handle a simple thumb drive, phone or iPod charger. So unless my product is seriously defective, I find that this product doesn't do the job it's suppose to and is pretty much useless. More

  • Will this work with an Airport Extreme?
    • Asked by Geoffrey T from Surrey
    • Oct 23, 2010
    Answer

My understanding is that the Airport Extreme requires a self-powered hub. This particular hub is bus-powered, not self-powered, so it will not work with the AirPort Extreme base station. Likewise, it will not work with the AirPort Express. More

  • Capable for iPad 2?
    • Asked by Edmond C
    • Aug 12, 2011
    Answer

Yes, you can charge your iPad if you plug this USB hub into your computer, and then plug a USB to Dock Connector cable into the hub. However some reviewers have had problems with not getting enough power, so it might not work efficiently. More
