    Excellent

I had a leather case that covered the whole ipad. But with an iPad Air you need to show off it's beauty. This cover does that and protects the screen. Good buy and looks great with a white ipad. Granted I have to be more careful with my iPad Air but after all it cost over £400 so I should be careful with it. If you want to show off the elegance of the iPad Air then I would buy this.

    Waste of money

Seriously cannot understand how people like this case. The magnet is as useful as a k flavoured lollipop. I only have to touch to hard and it falls off. Next time I'm near an apple store I'm gonna see if it's defective. I expected more for 35 quid

Not sure what everyone is on about

I was considering a Smart Cover since getting an iPad Air for Christmas. After having read the reviews on here, I wasn't so sure, but once I had watched some video reviews from YouTube I was convinced it was the way to go.

The magnet attaching to the iPad is very strong, and the three sided triangle formed when flipped over is pretty stable, I've only had it collapse on me once, but other times I've been able to jab the iPad pretty hard without it doing so.

The polyurethane cover feels quite nice - better quality than some reviews here will have you believe - and the micropore inside keeps your iPad looking shiny and clean.

I was initially going to go for the red cover, but it seemed a little too bright in person, if it had been the same as the leather that would have been my choice, but the blue is a nice subtle shade that is pleasing to the eye!

Overall, if you're in doubt I would go for it. It is maybe in the pricey side at £35, but it feels well engineered (as expected from Apple) and that it will last a decent amount of time.

Overall, don't believe all the negative reviews you read, those that are unhappy will generally be the first to shout about it! Hope this helps to bring some balance, and help your decision in making a purchase!

Works just as well as the old cover

    • Written by from London

After reading some of the reviews on here, I was quite put off buying the new cover. I previously had the iPad2 with cover and based on the reviews I read, most people were complaining that the new design was substandard. Well in my honest opinion this is a load of nonsense. The new cover works just as well as the old cover. Yes, the magnetic strip is now plastic but that keeps it light. I was worried that with the cover it would make it much heavier but to my delight it actually still remains light (the whole point of the new iPad Air). Go out and buy it, you won't be disappointed.

    New ipad Air Smart Cover

    • Written by from Livingston

Ordered this from the Apple store after getting my lovely new ipad Air. To be honest, I would not recommend this item. It is too flimsy and as it now only has 3 sections instead of 4 to fold over, it will NOT stay folded and collapses constantly. Far too expensive for this inferior product !!

Not happy with the new design

    • Written by from Beckenham

Bought a cover for my new iPad air, very disappointing that Apple has slightly tweaked the design. The metal bar connection has now gone and been replaced with a fully covered 'side bar'.

I found that the cover has a bit of 'slide' when closed over the face of the ipad. The old design wouldn't budge but now the cover moves slightly and allows room for the screen to be scratched.

just as good as iPad 2 one nicer brighter colour works well and love that the metal hinge has gone since it sratched up my iPad 2. reason for not 5 star is the price £35 would be happier at £25 thats what its worth but should still purchase.

    A bit flimsy

    • Written by from Sheffield

Took a week to arrive through the post.

Looks and feels a bit flimsy; doesn't feel like £35 worth of kit.

Keeps the screen clean and free of scratches, but when used as a stand it isn't strong enough to withstand you pressing the home button - need to put a hand behind it to steady it.

Magnet is strong enough to hold it in place over the screen, but not strong enough to hold it to the back when holding it; constantly find myself having to either hold the cover to the back, or just take it off.
