Ignore The "No expose function! Huge let down" review - BEST MOUSE EVER!!!!

    • Written by from London

This mouse is just pure brilliance. Especially if you download the free "BetterTouchTool" or other such program with it.
With the default settings it is very easy and instinctual to use, I also found it to be very comfortable. But with the added program which lets you completely configure this to the nth degree to perform any function your heart desires, this becomes a stroke of genius (yes, you can even configure "Expose", "Application Switcher", "Dashboard", etc, etc, etc, etc.). Once you have used it for about an hour, you will wonder how you ever made a computer work without one.
    Well, WELL worth the money.
Go into town NOW, buy one, come home, enjoy!

    Outstanding - The Mouse Redefined

    • Written by from Inverin

The new Apple mouse is truly a leap forward; it's essentially a trackpad curved over the back of a super stylish mouse. The conceptual leap greatly eases scrolling, particularly for large screen iMAC users. More importantly, Magic Mouse instantly introduces some extra fun into using the Mac. Scrolling and navigating is fun again. Finding music in iTunes just got a lot faster. Surfing in Safari becomes more fun too. Magic Mouse is a high quality stylish product and well worth the investment.

    More or less perfect.

    • Written by from birmingham

Instinctive and easy to use (despite me having relatively large hands).

Nothing else to say really. I've been using it for just under half and hour and already I don't have to stop and think "I'm using a new sort of mouse". It's everything I hoped it would be.
    Congratulations to the designers.

Personally, I have found this mouse very comfortable, and intuitive to use. Tracking and clicking is very smooth and precise, and gestures work well. My only issue is that I have had to use Better Touch Tool to increase tracking speed (as I've found the standard maximum much too slow), and add 3 finger gestures. I Have recently replaced the original batteries, which lasted around 5 weeks.

A really good mouse especially with the extra gestures you can add with the Better Touch Tool.

    Simply the greatest mouse ever

    • Written by from Sunderland

I bought this mouse to replace my Might Mouse (with is clogged up scroll ball of doom). I got the mouse, instantly installed a 3rd party utility called "MagicPrefs" and I am now enjoying true multi-touch bliss! With MagicPrefs and this mouse I can pinch and zoom images, trigger exposé, trigger quick-look, open the dashboard... I can basically do anything with it!

Excellent product. I couldn't be happier with it. :)

    A Dream to use !

    • Written by from YORK

I was never a big fan of the apple standard (irritating fuzzy ball) mouse, so i jumped at the chance of the magic mouse and how glad i am :)))))- slick and easy to use, looks fantastic, with the added bonus of working a treat with my iMac and Macbook pro. A huge step in the right direction from Apple!

    An excellent mouse from Apple

    • Written by from Broad Hinton

I must be honest, I have completely ignored the multi-fingured swipes. I have no idea whether or not they are easy or hard, I simply do not find them comfortable. Others should add another star (ahem) if they can use them.

Ignoring these, this is quite simply the best mouse I've ever owned. Perfect shape, balance, and the behaviour of the touch surface as a mouse wheel/ball is utterly flawless. Almost the perfect mouse, and looks wonderful with the wireless keyboard.

    It's Magic!

I have just received this brilliant mouse from the Apple Store today. As with everything Apple it connected seamlessly to my iMac running Snow Leopard. No further updates were required. It is a solidly built and beautifully designed piece of equipment, and very intuitive, even activating Expose quickly. I especially like the finger-light scrolling facility and the rest of my family took to it like a duck to water!

Yet another step forward from Apple.

    • Written by from Preston

The Magic Mouse is as good to hold and use as at is to look at.

The scroll is vastly better than the ball on the previous mouse.

I do miss squeezing for Exposé and pressing the ball for application switching but the improved scrolling and better right click more than compensate.

    New mouse arrived today...

Beautiful and does the job better than I thought.

Previously being a PC user for 15 years the right-click function is comforting. The rest of it is delicious! Looks great, functions perfectly and worked straight out of he box, so I love it!

Need to find a small soft case for it, so if anyone has ideas, let me know.

    A splendid mouse

    • Written by from Shalford

I replaced a Mighty Mouse with this Magic Mouse six weeks ago - and configured it to use Expose almost straight away. Working on an (older) iMac but running Mac OS X 10.6.2, it is simple to set up and configure, works exactly as advertised, and has revolutionised my use of standard applications. I also use a MacBook Pro for travelling and the Magic mouse is at least as good as the trackpad on the Pro -- in fact I take it with me when travelling, just because I like the "look and feel". Battery life seems fine (better than my previous "Apple Wireless Mouse") and multi-finger "swiping" -- though requiring a short learning curve -- has now become second nature; so much so that when forced to use a standard 2- or 3-button mouse on other machines, I regularly find myself multi-touch "swiping" and becoming frustrated when it doesn't work :-)

Expose IS available on the magic mouse, but WITH the right software!

Google better touch tool, its free and allows you to add expose and other gestures to the magic mouse very easily. Even application specific gestures.

Without this 3rd party software, I admit the mouse was nothing more than a gimmick, however with it, there's no doubt in my mind that the magic mouse becomes the most powerful and versatile mouse in the world.

Way to miss a trick Apple, get a clue and add this functionality with a software update!

Thankyou so much to the guy that found MagicPrefs (google it)

Once you've downloaded magicprefs for free this mouse suddenly becomes the greatest mouse out there.. not only does it speed up the tracking (which is what I found the most frustrating with this mouse) but it also brings back 'the middle button' to bring up the dashboard (which I use so often on the old mouse) also has many other features including a 'three or four button click' which you can customise.. I've gone with three buttons for Expose, four buttons for Spaces :)

Highly recommend this mouse.. it's awesome anyway with it's slick design, touch sensitive scroll etc but remember to download MagicPrefs.. again Thankyou for the guy who had mentioned this in his previous comment.

Great mouse, not so great software. BUT IT'S FIXABLE!!!

    • Written by from Barnsley

I was astonished when this mouse came out, I love my iPhone and using the technology in a mouse just seemed amazing, especially since my Mighty Mouse rollerball keeps sticking.

And it is GREAT! The beautiful design, the sleek finish, the right click and scrolling feature work a dream and no moving parts mean there's no breakdown from dust or sweat.

One problem, there's no expose option, only a navigation swipe that I never use. The guys at Apple suggest HotCorners but that's no good. Why Apple have created a superior product with endless possibilities without creating the software made to reap from them I don't know.

So basically it's an amazing mouse with only one hiccup which is easily solved by MagicPrefs, great!!!
Thanks Apple, I love it. But make your own next time :D
