    No more roller ball

    • Written by from Chichester

For anybody who has struggled with the old rollerball Mac mouse like we have, (three dead in a drawer somewhere) this mouse is such an advance. So far, I'm loving it. Bit expensive, but as I use it 12 hours a day and it's so tactile, I really don't mind too much. Incidentally, I saw a review complaining about the extra buttons (squeeze) being missing, to be honest I always found them more irritating than useful.

I bought this mouse a few days ago, ust to start, i don't have a Mac, yet.. but it does work with a windows PC, the multi touch doesn't, but the point and click stuff does, which is still good.

    Not Multi Touch with windows

Has a HUGE range because of Bluetooth, have a teacher that uses it as a presentation clicker thing.
Excellent Design, Best Design i have seen in a long time, it looks just a beautiful as it does in pictures, maybe even more.
Great Multi touch, i tied it out on a friends Macbook, works seamlessly, the swipe and scroll feature is so responsive, just like a wheel, without the horrible noise.

So as you can see, i don't think any mouse i have used is as good as this, except for gaming mice, but i assure you, none have the wow factor that this does when people see it...

    Well worth the £55

    Best mouse I've used...

    • Written by from Lytchett Matravers

I was worried about the reviews regarding the mouse being too flat and the 'secondary' button difficult to use. I find these fears are unfounded.

Yes, my hand lies flatter on the surface which is actually more comfortable than being bent back a little as you get with other mice. It also sits nicely in either hand (for the ambidextrous). I naturally lift my 'primary' button finger before using the 'secondary' button so this is not a problem. Though this action is different to the new track pads where you can use two fingers to make a secondary click.

Vertical and Horizontal scrolling is easy to do on the mouse and I find it doesn't move around either being held between your outer fingers and thumb.

I never want to go back to a scroll wheel or ball for that matter.

    Best mouse ever

    • Written by from KUOPIO

In my opinion, this is not only the best Apple mouse ever but also the best mouse ever. Touch surface makes scrolling feel much smoother than with any other mouse and the mouse feels light in your hand once you get used to it.

All I'm missing is more gestures. Good work.

This mouse is great and I love the scrolling and the back and forward in Safari.

Now the bits that will take some getting use to: the mouse sits a little lower than I like, and I would like it to move the mouse pointer faster. ( I have it set to Max)

    Is it worth buy? Yup!

    Great Product!!

    • Written by from MANCHESTER

I saw this on a Mac in John Lewis and tried it out. It has a different feel to the normal more rounded mouse, but is so much easier to use. I have been to the Apple Store for the past two weeks trying to get one, but to no avail - until today when I bought the last one in the shop. I liked the Mighty Mouse, but this is better. I prefer the lower curved shape, as this makes it easier to swipe with the fingers. It was so easy to set up on my MacBook too. Just downloaded the Mouse update from Apple, and it worked straight away on my System 10.5.8. Like all good design, I just can't stop using it! Well done Apple - another smart, functional, good looking product.

It is a huge improvement over the Mighty Mouse

    Beautiful design - perfect simplicity
    Gestures are fantastic
No Expose or Dashboard quick access is a bit of a niggle but I have keyboard shortcuts that'' suffice.
£55 is quite expensive for a mouse but I definitely feel the Magic Mouse is worth it

    Excellent Product

I have just purchased the Magic Mouse and have found it to be a great companion for my MacBook Pro 17"

I previously had the Mighty Mouse which was good, but on a different league to the Magic Mouse.

I absolutely love the look and feel, and the navigation around the MacBook is so much easier.

    Another great product Apple!!

I have had this mouse about 1 week now and find it a pleasure to use.

    The laser pointer is accurate.

The mouse glides well over most surfaces and the clicks are positive.

The touch surface works well making scrolling through web pages a dream. Actually, browsing the net is amazing using this mouse. The momentum scrolling is as brilliant as it is on the iPhone.

I think the pinch and rotate gesture MUST come to this mouse as they will work perfectly and add so much to this already intuitive design.

I was a little concerned by the low design of the mouse, from reading reviews etc but up to now I have not found it a major problem. I would say I have medium size hands!

I use this mouse at work with Final Cut Pro and After Effetcs and find its great for scrolling through timelines and very accurate editing.

At home its great for web browsing and iTunes use.

    Splendid job all round.

    A Great Work in Progress!

    • Written by from Glasgow

This mouse is a great concept and, for what it sets out to be, it works perfectly! Obviously, it partially incorporates many of the MacBook Pro features with its multi-touch trackpad, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it has no Expose function. It is in some sense understandable why it does not, because it would need to be quite a bit larger to accommodate the four finger gesture. Personally, I am very pleased with the Magic Mouse and look forward this type of technology improving and expanding. It may be an idea to advance the multitouch technology to a bluetooth glass track pad that would sit on your desktop next to the keyboard, doing away with a mouse altogether. To me that would be ideal, as my work flow is so much better using the multitouch track pad of my MacBook Pro than with an ordinary track pad or mouse.

Wow! just an amazing piece of kit from Apple. You need one of these in your life - without question. So far ahead of any other product ive seen. Took a bit of finding update software, but once that was installed set up was easy. I need a case and I need to know if it will pair automatically.....loving your work Apple.

Simply excellent. Another reviewer bemoaned the loss of expose, but I simply turned on one of the active corners to expose. Glides easily on most surfaces, nice to hold and feels very light despite holding 2 x AA batteries. Scrolling is much better than Mighty Mouse - I used to find that the scroll ball got clogged and wouldn't scroll and right clicking could be a bit hit and miss, but with the Magic Mouse it's perfect. Another winner!
