Apple USB Power Adapter
Great product
Written by RS from Bournemouth
Sep 11, 2008
This is a great product to have and must be brought if you own an iPod. It is simple to use and it saves leaving your computer on over night and it charges well and keeps it charge. What a great product, I believe should be included when buying a iPod but i still give it 5 star

Apple USB Power Adapter
Excellent quality but still over priced.
Written by DO from Norwich
Aug 27, 2008
This power adapter is really good quality and unlike all the cheap knock off's I have bought for my ipod touch, this one actually works!
I still think that this should be included as standard though when you are paying £200+ for an ipod.108 of 115 people found this useful

Apple USB Power Adapter
clunky and expensive
Written by RJ from London
Aug 25, 2008
The compact profile of the adaptor would be welcome - but is sacrificed when connected into a three pin UK plug - and some of the other larger world formats. The result is a clunky and awkward item. It works well though. But rather expensive.

Good quality but too expensive
Written by AL from Carnforth
Jul 19, 2008
This is a great product - small, unobtrusive, and well-made.
But it's twenty pounds you're never going to see again, so if you already have one it's a waste of money. It's a simple case of charging too much (no pun intended) for a product. If they were ten pounds I'd buy two more, but I'm not paying twenty for another one to use at work, much as I'd like the added convenience of another.50 of 67 people found this useful

Apple USB Power Adapter
Essential, but expensive
Written by MS from Southampton
Jun 10, 2008
You need this. End of review. Having to use a computer to charge your iPod is unnecessary and a chore. The only thing I can't work out is why it isn't bundles with the iPod. It is with iPhone, so why not iPod?

Essential Adapter
Written by JW from PETERLEE
Apr 25, 2008
This adapter should have been included with the iPod Touch and the cable could be a lot longer.
This adapter is essential if your away from a usb power capable device or you are tired of 'booting up' just to charge your iPod Touch.
Overall good solid construction and easy to use.282 of 460 people found this useful

GOOD but BAD
Written by TO from Lee-Green
Apr 16, 2008
i think it is a very good product, but why doesn't it come with the ipod itself, when i charge my ipod with my computer the USB always disconnets and the whole process takes hours and the only other way to chare it is to buy an ipod speaker and a good quality one is very expensive

I agree with GB's review
Written by EG from Bedford

I agree with GB's review. The two pieces of my adaptor do not fit together firmly so I cannot plug it into a wall socket.

GB's criticism
Written by CD from Nottingham
Mar 27, 2008
Like SG, I cannot understand GB's criticism of the USB power adapter. I can only assume that GB has not pushed the two parts together hard enough. It is a pretty tight fit and I guess some people could be nervous about using excessive force. Trust me, if you push the 'mains' component down fully onto the two pins the whole unit is entirely secure.

Who knows what GB means!
Written by SG from UTTOXETER
Mar 23, 2008
With regards to the previous review by GB - I haven't got a clue what they are on about. The product works fine with UK power sockets as the adaptor and plug clip securely together and cannot be separated without force - it's very similar to the power brick for the MacBook and iBook range.
The £19 is steep, especially as iPods previous to the 5th gen included one.88 of 143 people found this useful

Apple USB Power Adapter
Absolutely Useless!
Written by GB from Norwich
Feb 25, 2008
The adaptor is over priced and totally unsuitable for the UK market despite what Apple says. It comes in two parts and these have to be fitted together. It is a push fit and the two parts do not lock together. This means it cannot be used with a normal UK wall socket as the adaptor piece (which takes the USB cable) drops to the floor as there is nothing to hold it in place.
I have been told by Apple that the adapter is designed to be used with a floor extension socket. How many of us remember to pack one of these when we are travelling and away from a computer? Given the various designs of phone chargers these days surely Apple could design something that is more fit for purpose. In the meanwhile I can go away but when the battery runs out on my iPod, that's it!227 of 424 people found this useful

Why not international adaptor?
Written by PW from Sun City
Feb 20, 2008
I love this adaptor, but surely with such a portable device as iPod, a choice of plug configurations would be sensible. The UK (SEAsia is same) plug is SO-O-O huge compared to say a US or Australia/NZ plug. I'd like to be able to buy the other, smaller, plug configurations to go on the adaptor (like the product photo!!) to make it truly international travel-friendly. PWR

Should come with the ipod
Written by MA from Romford
Feb 13, 2008
This is a necessary accessory for any ipod as charging by computer connection takes so long. Therefore, it should really be included in the box with the ipod at the time of purchase.
