    quality headphones

    • Written by from Burnham

I'm surprised to see some poor reviews, I've had a pair of these for 3 years and yes, they've just died on me but they worked really hard in that time, sounded great (loud & crisp, good bass), came with lots of sizes of buds so I could select a suitably small size to fit my titchy ear 'oles, and also came with a tiny hard case to protect them when not in use. Can hold their own against much pricier models.

    Really Not Worth The Money

    • Written by from Maidenhead

There is nothing WRONG with the sound quality, they just don't sound 8x better than basic headphones.

Also, the design of the jack is poor, so my set broke at the base after just 2 or 3 months of use.

Average sound - poor cable quality

    • Written by from LONDON

As with other users here, I've experienced average acoustics from these small in-ear headphones. The bass is not great and certainly not as deep and as rich as my previous Sony in-ear phones. Anything less than 13.5mm drivers cannot compete.

They do fit very well, with the over ear configuration, which I must admit I've not had before.

My only complaint would be that straight out of the packaging the L-shaped jack cable was damaged internally, give an interrupted and degraded volume level.

Disappointing overall and would not recommend them.

    Not for iPhone 4S

    • Written by from London

Fantastic sounding headphones. Nice even balance.

However, if you want them to make phone calls (otherwise just get the ones without the mic), they have unfortunately been rendered completely useless by the 4S's sidetone level. The ambient noise is picked up by the mic & fed back into the ear-buds (this happens with any headset used with the 4S). This is a normal feature of most phones - sidetone, however, the level is so high with the 4S that it drowns out the person on the other end of the call if there is the slightest ambient noise (e.g whilst driving).

This does not happen with the old 3GS and seems to be software bug which is not adjustable. Apple has yet to fix it. Don't buy until they do.

Search "iPhone 4S headset echo" in the apple discussion forums for more info.

    Still sounding good

    • Written by from London

Bought these about nine months ago and have used them every day. They handle almost everything I throw at them with a clean, effortless and relaxed sound. I'd say they aren't for out-and-out bass fanatics, but they reproduce the double bass well and have enough weight to bring out the propulsive force of rock drumming. Five stars for the way they make music so enjoyable to listen to. If I had to drop a star, it would be because the silicon earpieces got damaged and I can't see how to identify the size to buy a new set. But I won't deduct a star, because the damage was my own fault.

    Good sound, don't last

    • Written by from London

Similar to other reviews I have read. The sound from these is above average and you can get good bass tones if that's what you are in to. I have had mine for about 6 months and the cable at the jack and on the right ear is now fraying and exposed. I occasionally get a pausing of music on the iPhone where something is shorting out.

I look after my headphones and had a set of Bose in ear's that lasted over 4 times as long as these did. I have no idea why they don't make the cable better on these it would make them good headphones, as they are I could not recommend them.

    Cable snaps at bottom

    • Written by from London

Everything great about this headset but one thing. The L shape between the headphone jack and the cable wire puts a lot of pressure on the cable. Mine started fraying in 2 months. This L shaped jack to wire design just seems totally flawed to me. Everything else is great. Noise cancelling great, fit to ears great with wire going around ear at the top so they stay on, sound quality great. Just such a shame that one fatal flaw. If you are someone who is using the iPhone with it being on a desk or something they this issue might not be a problem. Otherwise this looks like a headset design that won't last.

    Great sound, poor cable design

    • Written by from HELSINKI

The sound is great and they include many different earpieces to get a good fit to one's ears. It's really a shame that the minijack end of the cable breaks too easily. I Have replaced the set twice and still the joint between soft cable and hard plastic of the plug snaps. Have not had this problem with other headsets.

    Great all round set

    • Written by from Livingston

Bought these as a replacement for a set of Klipsch S4i earphones that dies after only 2 weeks use. These are very robust with solid connections and strong, tangle-free cabling (unlike on the Klipsch). The sound is very good for a single-driver set, with a wide sound stage and solid bass response. The mid-top range is not perfect but is well balanced and sounds very good. I don't think you could improve on the sound without spending at least another £100. I had a set of Etymotic hf2 prior to this and I have had a set of mid-range Shures as well. Both were good but a little flat for my taste. I tried the Monster Beats but they were far to bassy and had no refinement whatsover. This set has a very good balance. They also work well for video sound. Only 4-stars as I would have liked them to include a triple-flange ear-piece as well as the buds.
