Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Headphones
Exceptionally good cans.

I own the cheaper version of these, the HD 25-SP II. They use exactly the same drivers, but have a flimsier headband and don't come with a pretty box and carry case.
The sound quality is very good, and where these headphones shine is in the sound pressure - they have smaller, more efficient drivers than a lot of other phones so they can really give your eardrums a good whomping, if you so wish, even if you run them from an iPod. (Noise on the London Underground is hardly audible at all if you use these at full volume).
These are closed-back headphones, and proud of it. You'll get a much more clinical sound out of the box (though this does improve after a while), but if you mainly listen to orchestral, acoustic or choral music then you really want a pair of open-back cans. I listen to all genres, though, and they all sound fab to me. I'd recommend to anybody, apart from people who listen only to aforementioned genres, but apart from that these are an exceptionally good pair of phones, and much better than other phones of a similar price range. …More7 of 7 people found this useful

Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Headphones
Simply the greatest

I have tried lots of headphones over the years, for DJing, listening to iPod/iPhone and general use. These are always the best across alot of fields. I used to own the MK1 of these and bought the MK2's a while ago. They are very light, have a great clamp against your ears, very comfortable and after a good 50hr burn in, these sound amazing. Very deep bass, clear mids and highs. The lead is on the short side for DJing. Is it any wonder cameramen, SKY Sports reporters and pro DJ's across the globe use these! …More
