I hooked my Mac Mini 08 (2.0Ghz, 2Gb RAM) up to my 32" Samsung 1080p LCD TV and it works fine very good clear picture.
With that said i tried this cable on an earlier lower spec Mac Mini and it will not show a picture on the 32" screen, it all depends on what VRAM is available.

I wanted to hook up my old mac mini to my new 32" high def Sony TV and thought this would be the way to do it. Unfortunately the graphics card on the mini wont power the screen even in low resolutions. However connect it up using a DVI to VGA cable instead (assuming your telly has a VGA input) and you get a perfectly satisfactory picture that will run on high screen resolutions. Fantastic. …More
