I've got a 64GB black mini and bought the black leather Smart Case. Looks absolutely brilliant... now my only decision is do I sell my mini and get the Retina version when it's released. Decisions decisions!
Well worth the money! …

Lightning Adapter Plug too thick.

The lightning plug on this adapter is THICKER than the one that comes with the iPad and doesn't fit in the recess on the smart case without being forced in, this is not good when you have paid so much for a dedicated case and charging lead (£90 in total).
It is necessary to file a chamfer on the top side of the plug to get it to fit, Apple really need to make sure that they test fit all their products before putting them on sale.
I would have given this great case 5 stars if it where not for this basic design fault. …

Looks Smart - shame about magnetic catch
The black leather case looks Smart and offers good protection, which is just as well because the magnetic catch facility to raise The black leather case looks Smart and offers good protection, which is just as well because the magnetic catch facility to raise the ipad into landscape/portrait viewing position doesn't hold and it collapses - very annoying. The only good thing is the wake up/sleep facility which is useful and saves wear and tear on the buttons. …

Not worth the money as it's got so grubby.
I bought this in red & while it's a good fit I'm so disappointed with it as it got really grubby very quickly. Having spent €70 on I bought this in red & while it's a good fit I'm so disappointed with it as it got really grubby very quickly. Having spent €70 on it, thinking it was a good investment, I've now turned around & bought a Belkin case for half the price & I'm much happier with it. I'm the only person using it but it looks filthy & it's impossible to clean it. It's as if it absorbs dirt. The fit is good but I wasn't overly impressed with it as a stand either, I find the Belkin case way superior. It's too pricey not to be perfect. …

Good quality, not perfect
Feels solid and good quality, and generally fits well. It provides 100% coverage/protection when closed, and is nice to the touch. Feels solid and good quality, and generally fits well. It provides 100% coverage/protection when closed, and is nice to the touch.
When I open the lid and flip around the back and place it flat on a table, the tension in the leather hinge prevents the iPad from lying flat. The entire iPad raises off the table at the hinge side, and the only way this will resolve is if the leather loosens up/stretches, so I will have to wait and see if this resolves. Most people seem to be complaining about the gap by the hinge when the lid is *closed* - this is a tiny gap compared to the 1cm off the table that the iPad rests when the lid is folded open!
Also, when folded around the back, the lid doesn't magnetically attach to the back of the iPad.
With all things Apple, you pay a premium and so it makes the niggles harder to swallow, but no product is perfect. Generally this is a good quality case. …
