Overview

Now you'll never lose your work or miss the end of a DVD movie because your battery runs out at 35,000 feet. The MagSafe Airline Adapter will keep your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air juiced throughout your flight. Sleek and light, it works with in-seat DC power ports available on many commercial airliners — both EmPower ports and 20mm ports (using the included adapter). Check with your airline regarding availability of in-seat power ports.

Because it's a MagSafe adapter, you'll continue to enjoy MagSafe convenience just as you do at home or work. The magnetic DC plug ensures a tight connection and enables a clean break from the power port if there is undue tension — preventing your MacBook from being pulled off your tray table if someone accidentally trips over the cord.

Important notes:
Using the MagSafe Airline Adapter provides power for your computer but does not charge the battery.
The MagSafe Airline Adapter is not compatible with automobile power ports.

    Works fine. Neat Adaptor.

I've used this on BA flights on 747 and 777 in premium eco; some of the following is specific to this. You don't need the 20mm adaptor, just the plain cable. It says on the packaging that if the led above the socket isn't green try plugging it in again (up to 5 times). However, you simply need to ask someone to turn on the power - it's a central control. It stays green the whole time then on all the seats, plug or no plug.

The plug on the laptop end is good and low profile rather than sticking out like the normal mains plug does. The other end is less good (~3cm protruding) and hence sticks into your leg space a bit on these seats. I'm sure it's in a different place elsewhere..
It's the first time i've had an adaptor for the plane and I'm really pleased with it.

Uninterrupted power for my MBP (5,5) from Manchester to Sydney. Great!

    Not Quite Perfect

No complaints about the performance and it is light in weight with a long enough cable. However, I pulled mine from the power outlet in low airplane light... and left the end connector on the aircraft. Now I have to buy a complete replacement kit. I won't make that (expensive) mistake again. My "Air" was pricey enough in the first place. More
