Product Information

  • With the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, it’s easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad or iPad mini so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.

After you insert the SD card into the reader, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organises them into albums. When you sync iPad or iPad mini to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer’s photo library.

The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4.

What you can do though is exactly what the name suggests and what the thing was made for.

Whilst out and about I can easily take pictures using my SLR and then put my SD card into the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader and pop that into the lightening port. This then allows me to transfer my pictures straight to the iPad and into it's camera roll without needing a computer.

Although it may be a bit pricey, the iPhone 5 doesn't support it and it's only limited to transferring pictures, it does exactly what I need and is very simple to use whilst also being compact.

I was instantly impressed. As soon as I inserted my SD card it automatically opened up import and displayed all the pictures, giving me an option to import them all or just selected ones. No instructions are necessary with this item. I was most impressed by the speed of transfer, and also the auto detection so I don't have to remember which app to use. This now lives in my camera bag along with my DSLR.

  • Not compatible with iPhone6

Despite it having the Lightning connector (which is touted as connecting anything to everything as long as it is Apple) the device does not work with my brand new iPhone 6.

    NOT HAPPY!

    Apple, please sort quickly!!
