ISO 6400 capability for extended shooting range
Extended light sensitivity range up to ISO 6400 adds the power to shoot sharper, more natural-looking photos in lower lighting conditions, or to capture fast moving subjects with outstanding clarity. The new image-processing engine produces clear results with minimal noise, even when shooting with high ISO settings.
Creative options and greater convenience
You even have the option to use focal lengths as wide as 21mm (35mm format equivalent). The built-in accessory shoe supports the use of Nikon's advanced i-TTL flash control for external flashes.
Built-in GPS tagging
What's more, the built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) can be set to record the exact location (latitude and longitude) where a shot was taken, so your shots will integrate perfectly with the Places feature in iPhoto. Categorise photos by location and convert GPS location tags to common, user-friendly names.

Wait for an improved model if you can

I've got five concerns with this camera.
1. GPS does not perform or does so intermittently. That would be unacceptable on an iPhone or a mobile navigation device.
2. Picture quality is not noticeably better than my six megapixel camera, displayed on 20 inch screen.
3. Creates very big files at standard (recommended) setting which slows down editing considerably.
4. Movie quality is no better than the old camera.
5. Nice to have manual controls but the basic lens limits creative freedom.
You're better off with an SLR if you want creative control or a compact point-and-shoot model for everything else. …More2 of 3 people found this useful

I have been using this camera for last two months. The picture quality is amazing. They are very sharp and clear. There are some problems like its not very good in low light and GPS chip does not seem very powerful. But overall this is a very good camera for the price and size. Can't expect too much with this price and size. I am pretty impressed with the picture quality. …More
