Great concept - bad finish
I really liked the idea of an Apple cover that protects the iPad on both front and back. So I picked the Apple case for that reaso n, and it does protect the iPad quite well. But the finish is really poor! First thing to mention are the sharp edges, if you hold your iPad for some time, it begins to make cut marks in the hands. This is not acceptable, because of my intention for buying this case, was to keep the iPad protected all the time without compromising with the functionality. The second thing to mention is the screen cover itself, it does fit the screen very well and protects it meanwhile. The con about it, is when you hold the iPad and there is no cunning way to have the screen flap on the back, it just dangles and there is no way to attach it to the cover itself. So in the future I hope that Apple will improve the design and smoothing the sharp edges. …

Poor Design
I bought This case to protect my ipad 3.
1/ the fitting is too loose.
2/ the edges are very sharp and uncomfortable to hold in t he hand.

Really can't see the problem
I brought this case when it first came out and have been very pleased.
I only got the iPad third gen in April and purchased a leather case for a similar price (can't remember the brand) after 4 weeks the edging came off and I was very disappointed. I then saw the Apple case in my local Virgin store. I opted for the grey (color is a bit boring) but works a treat. I keep reading about the fit and sharp edges!! Absolutely no issues, really I think it is just the way some people are unrealistic in their expectations. This is 40 quid well spent, not cheap but you get what you pay for. I have been using now for about 6 weeks of daily use and it looks and feels like new, no signs of wear.
Based on current performance I would expect at least 12 months of use from the case. Additionally the magnetic sleep / wake works a treat. …- Written by Mark W from Wednesfield

Ipad smart case
Having paid a LOT of money for apple goods I am very disappointed that this case is loose around the iPad 4. Only bought it becaus e it was perfect for iPad 3. Why can't they just make adjustments to fit the new iPads. Now I'm stuck with it because the shop I got it from wont refund. It's really not fair of apple to do this to customers who spend vast amounts of money. Really annoyed! …

Smart case
I purchased a smart case having looked at all the other alternatives. My first thought was it is made by Apple so the design and s implicity are going to be there and I was right. It fits like a glove and still retains the slim features of the iPad. Read reviews saying the edges are sharp and I agree but I tend to put my iPad on my lap or on a table and it is then not an issue. The only problem is the price. £39 is a lot of money. I got mine in of all places Sainsburys where they are selling them with ten percent off. Still £35 though. Having said all this the smart case is protecting a £400 minimum piece of quality tech and it needs proper protection. Buy one if your pocket will allow you to. …
