    Best accessory till now

    • Written by from Chennai

This must be the best accessory to date for the iphone 5 lightning cable issue. The price is same as a spare lightning cable but once you get this you can use it with any generic micro USB cable. And those are much cheaper than the USB lightning cable. So it would be better to go for this tiny adapter rather then a spare cable also once you buy this you are world of charging options really opens up, So go for it.

    Not compatible with all cables

    • Written by from Beverley

This works fine on my iphone 5 with a nokia 1m cable, but not with a 5m cable even though the nokia works OK. It just puts the phone into a charging/not charging loop. Will try with a 3m cable and if I don't report back it works

Expensive but thought a durable alternative to an expensive cable

    • Written by from Hatfield

I thought I'd buy this and use a cheap micro USB cable so when ultimately the strain relief fails on the cable I can just pay £1 for a new micro USB cable. instead of £15 for a new cable. I plugged in my £1 cable and the phone said "Charging is not supported with this accessory". I could see the phone in iTunes and sync worked, just no charge. I then tried a second cable i got with my Logitech remote control and that works fine. I tried the cheap cable with the Logitech remote and it worked fine. So whatever reason it seems this adaptor doesn't work with all cables.

I think the idea is still sound, as the cables tend to fail with the strain relief at each end, so at least the adaptor will be more durable, if only I can find out what it is that makes some cables work and some not.

    Issue charging

    • Written by from reading

Only works when pressure is applied to the adapter (which means they are practically unuseable). Either a fault with the iphone, or the adapters (ordered 2 and same issue with both). As iphone works perfectly with standard lightning cables, can only assume to be a fault with the adapters. Not impressed!

    Great product

Prefer it to the 'Lightning to 30-pin Adapter'. Very small and useful as can be used with any Micro USB cable. Can also sync with iTunes using this adapter with a Micro USB cable.

    Allows for longer cable!

    • Written by from Hemel hempstead

With the introduction of ID chips in the apple lightning cables, its unlikely a longer, reliable 3rd party cable will be available any time soon.
This adapter when used with a long USB cable means you'll no longer be chained to your wall outlet!
The connections are very sturdy, when you pull the USB cable, it pulls the adapter out of the phone and leaves it on the end of the cable, I have no complaints with this product.

    Verry small!!!

    • Written by from london

Like Marc M from London said, this thing IS tiny, about 1mm longer and wider than the one you get on the end of the usb lead that comes with the phone luckily i only intend using it with my travel battery that comes in a case, so fits in perfectly with that.

Quickest, cheapest way to get a second charger for your iPhone 5

    • Written by from Brentford

At the moment, the lead time on every other spare charging cable for iPhone 5 is several weeks. This was delivered within a week for me. If, like most people, you have a spare micro usb cable kicking around, this will allow you to have a charger at home and at work, saving you from carrying your one precious cable around every day. It's about the same price per gramme as gold, but it's no more expensive than a lightning cable, and half the price of the 30-pin adapter. Worthwhile.

    Tiny but necessary

    • Written by from New York

Just to add to Marc's review above about this being tiny and easily lost.

I use this in the car where I have a great Nokia LED micro-USB charger.

The adapter? Like I did with the old 'dock' 30-pin type, I leave it attached to the micro-USB lead itself.

    Problem solved.

    Fits in a wallet!

This tiny contraption is great, it simply fits into a wallet and is always there for those awkward moments. The price on the other hand could be lower!

Agreed with the previous review - this thing is tiny. Other than that it works perfectly with my Blackberry(r) charger!

    Perfect

    • Written by from Redcar

Whilst tiny, this is (as you would expect) a well-made adapter which fits snugly and securely to a male micro USB connection. The description states that it is both ultra compact and durable, I think it delivers on both. In terms of use, it does exactly what you would expect it to. Of course, it's a little pricey for what it is, but it's value for money if you don't want to change USB leads over all the time.

    Just a point.

Something I wasn't quite aware of when I bought this, so I thought I's share. This thing is tiny. Seriously tiny. Make sure you have somewhere safe to keep it or you WILL lose it.
