Reviews for iPad Smart Cover - Polyurethane - Light Grey

A quality product that works really well, although rather expensive for what it is! Need something similar to protect the back of the iPad, which is, in my view, more prone to scratches and scuffs than the screen.

I recently bought the blue poly instead of leather as the price seemed high enough. I cannot fault it's usability - its a well-designed product throughout. What's found however was the vibrant colour tainted quicker than I imagined with general rubbing above tables and the marks showed pretty quickly. I decided to step up and get the leather after a week (cappucino, which should hide the 'dust colour' well). The feel is as expensive as the price, but I expect this to age well as good leather do.

Expensive, yes - but this is an investment as I do not plan to replace this (hopefully) ever.

If you're in two minds, make use of apples 14-day return and test out the poly by all means.

I have just seen the reviews that say the ipad falls/slips out of the cover.....it was an hour of thinking the cover was useless before i realised i hadn't pushed it into all four corners properly. I had to really push it in until it clicked into place and then it was perfect. It should NOT fall out!

The primary function of the Smart Cover is to protect the screen; added functions include conversion to a stand or typing ledge, as it rolls up, as well as waking and putting to sleep the iPad, when it is still on but covered with the Smart Cover.

That is exactly what it does.

Unfortunately, had they tried to hold the iPad with the leather Smart Cover, such as the one I purchased, Apple designers would have quickly placed two small magnets on the cover side, in order for the cover to stay in place behind the iPad. Moreover, it completely covers the 5MP camera... So, I tend to remove the cover very often...

I really love this cover because you can still see the beautiful iPad, it's great for typing and watching films, infact I'm typing this review right now on the smart cover. One small fault is that it has a function that sleeps/wakes the iPad, with it's magnet, which is clever, however when you fold the smart cover flat behind the iPad it still sleeps/wakes the iPad, because the magnets are still attracted to each other. The only way around this is to turn off this function and just use the sleep/wake button, but thats not as fun!

I bought this with my iPad two days ago in the US but I felt it didn't offer the protection I needed. However, it's a great design and I'll keep it for back up. I love the way that it wakes the iPad up when the cover is opened for example and I like that it's sleek and prevents it from becoming scratched. This is a great product and good design but, for me, I felt I wanted an all round cover.

I purchased this product from your good selves and i'm very disappointed, as if fact it's dangerous to use in the different position, as the iPad can easily fall out.
I thought buying it from apple would give me the security of knowing that it would be a first class product.

Bought a used Smart Cover in pink(!) because it was cheap and I wanted to try it out before paying full price. I've used it EXCLUSIVELY as my iPad 2 case for the past year and now I'm looking to buy another one in a better colour!

Having used a white iPad 2 in conjunction with a grey Smart Cover for the past two months now, I must say they are a good combination in terms of ergonomics and colour. I don't need to explain the various uses stated in the product description for the Smart Cover but for a person like me who likes to make videos now and often, it acts as a good make-shift tripod-esque product for the iPad. However, with its awesome uses and cool design, it is starting to split a little in the bottom left corner but this is due to the fact I put it in a bag virtually everyday as I am a student, so that is my fault.

However, this is another great Apple accessory and worth the money.
