    Very Disappointed, Misleading

    • Written by from Foxboro

I purchased this product, like many others who reviewed, for one purpose, to watch movies, tv shows on my tv, What i didnt know when I purchased this product, it only displays content from photos, and Netflix (not very good quality on Netflix for ipad) thats it, when I try to play protected content, I get a message saying: Cannot Play Move: The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies
    REALLY APPLE!?!?
I will be returning this product and my dock connecter, which was all a waste of money
Only purchase this product if you have an Apple TV

    Does not work

    • Written by from Stockton on Tees

It does not allow you to watch iTunes movies that you have paid for on a projector. How many Achilles heels is it possible to have??? This gives the iPad yet another one.

    Waste of money

    • Written by from Larkhall

I can't find anywhere on the product description that states that this can only be used with certain applications.

The only reason this gets one star is that I can't submit the review with none.

    Mirror

    • Written by from CLYDEBANK

I am a teacher and bought this cable thinking I could display to pupils the workings of the iPad just like Steve Jobs does. I am very disappointed that it only works on a few applications. I have ripped movies that it works on through iTunes, but I really thought I could show the beauty of the thing. At £25 I feel for the first time ever I have bought an Apple product I would not recommend

    FURIOUS!!!

    • Written by from cobham

One star is too much! Absolutely furious and bitterly disappointed that I can't watch a movie that I purchased through iTunes via my own projector! What's the point otherwise!?? Might as well download rip-off movies as I'm sure they will play fine! My own fault for paying for a movie! Never thought I'd say this but APPLE YOU S|_|CK!

Not what is says on the tin

    • Written by from harlow

Brought this as I wanted to use my iPad as a media centre and connect it to my tv but then found out that you can't use it for movies or music videos really not impressed but thankfully took it back to the retailer I got it from who happily refunded my money, not a good advert for a apple product

    itunes movies to TV CONNection

    • Written by from shankill

I think I've be sold the first pup from Apple.

YOU CAN PLAY MOVIES ON YOUR TV FROM YOUR IPAD.

YEH! YOUR VACATION MOVIES AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Apple – This life member will be looking at other options for his next purchase.

My kids are already fed up with the fact that non of their favorite sites work because of Adobe Flash. Now they're questioning WHY I purchased an ipad at all because they can't even watch their favorite (purchased on itunes) on their TV.

I HOPE THIS CAN BE RESOLVED BY UPDATING FIRMWARE

OTHERWISE THIS CUSTOMER AND HIS PURCHASING KIDS ARE OUT OF HERE!

    Very disappointed!

    • Written by from Kildare

I bought this to use just as I've been using my laptop all these years, then only to find that it only works on a select number of apps and it doesn't even emulate the ipad screen!, Even when it does work it takes far too long to connect and slows the entire system down. Apple sales reps should explain this during purchase, I bought mine at the apple store directly!

    Major Disappointed....

    • Written by from BEACONSFIELD

No audio comes through this (so you also need to connect an audio cable from your iPad headphone output to your TV), and the image size on screen is small. The sales pitch talks of seeing video "on the big screen". Well, on a quarter of your big screen maybe, which is what I get when playing a YouTube video. Maybe there is a way to scale up the dislpay size, but I cannot find it (on iPad or TV). So, total waste of £26 in my view. All these single use proprietary connectors really bug me about Apple.

    Rubbish !

    • Written by from Bristol

I brought this to use with ibeams through a video projector, very slow and lots of frame drops so the projected image is jerky.
Even on other applications the display on the ipad is slowed down too.

Garbage, can i have my money back Apple ?

    Picture slide show

    • Written by from FAREHAM

I am surprised that I can't view a picture slideshow on a screen! You have to create a slideshow in Keynote. Also cannot control the size of the movie run through the TV. It only fills around 25% of the screen.

    Does not play protected content.

    • Written by from Trujillo Alto

Extremely disappointed. Does not play protected content. If you purchased a movie through iTunes and want to watch it on your projector, you can't. Although you purchased the movie, you cannot watch it using this adapter. Another crippled device brought to you by the movie industry. That is the privilege you get for paying for content. I bet DVD rips play flawlessly.

    Not happy

Very disappointing. May be good for presentations via a projector but does not do what it promises re playing movies. Should be able to use it like a normal VGA connection.

Only works for very few apps

    • Written by from Woodinville

It is totally over sold. Nothing in the sales materials point out that it does not display the iPad screen! It only displays output specifically sent to the dock port by the app. So I can't use it to present my actual interaction with the iPad.

    very disappointed

    • Written by from Spalding

I would normally read reviews before purchasing anything, not this time and I really should have! I bought the adapter today and just assumed I would be able to connect it to my TV and watch anything that I had on the iPad. I even thought I would be able to watch BBC iplayer. Not so. I can only watch movies I have stored in 'videos' and that’s it. Very disappointed. Maybe there will be an update in the future that will allow the adapter to be used to its full potential. There is no information on the packaging either that explains the limits of the adapter. I feel a bit cheated to be honest.

    Very Poor

    • Written by from Stirling

Does not do 'what it says on the tin'.
This should be 'WYSIWYG' in that whatever is displayed on the IPAD should also be displayed on the external screen. Does not play movies.
Very misleading purchase information. I feel like I've been conned.

    Disappointed

I bought this connector for my I pad which by the way I love, only to find it didn't connect to an up to date Samsung T.V. Both TV and connector have a female connection. The information supplied on the apple website makes it sound very easy to do. Buy the connector and plug it in and you can get started. I'm left with problem of how to sort out the connections. Very disappointing information Apple.
