Excellent Earphones but only with Memory Foam Earbuds/Tips

    • Written by from Northallerton

I bought these earphones after doing much research on them. Its a very very well built headphone and I am sure it will lasts you a very long time. Because of the high quality material used, it is quite heavy on the ear and may feel uncomfortable or maybe even drop out. However, if you replace the silicon ear tip with a memory foam ones, all the minor problems will be resolved. I came across the memory foam ear tips after being advised by Atomic Floyd's customer service. The memory foam ear tips that I used are by MoBeast and you can find them fairly cheaply on eBay. At least much more cheaper than the rip off Comply brand of which I tried and is not as good as MoBeast's. As for the sound, all I can say is its the best I have ever experienced! I used to own Dr Dre Tour and Klipsch x10i and the Superdart is far superior in terms of built and sound quality.

    Wow. Just wow.

    • Written by from LONDON

Where to start? Well they look great - that's the first thing you'll notice. These are EIMs which look like they should sound good. They're built from some sturdy materials and come in a smart package. You'll get the feeling you're in for a treat. You are.

I'm coming from a very nice pair of dual driver Ultimate Ears which replaced some pretty decent Shures from a couple of years back so I'm accustomed to very nice sounding IEMs. That should put some context on things when I say these are head and shoulders above anything I've used before. The drive and energy behind the sound these produce is astonishing. The experience is, for want of a better word, massive. Play something bass heavy, close your eyes and you could imagine someone has somehow sneaked a massive woofer into the room. The sound has a visceral edge.

That's not to say these are all about the bass. So far I've tried these out with a range of styles and not found a single one lacking. It was when I listened to Hotel California though that my mind was made up. A great song for testing out speakers/IEMs etc. because of the richness of the sound. No word of a lie, it sounded like a new song. Harmonies were clear and crisp, the plucked guitars twanged playfully as the melody swelled and the drums thumped and crashed with energy and drive.

They're not cheap but you can't doubt the value. These are fantastic IEMs and if you're in the market for a great set and are happy to spend the money to hear your music so beautifully reproduced I am happy to recommend these unreservedly.

    Just two words.."Buy These"

    • Written by from Westcliff on Sea

Really like these, they are well made, extremely durable and thanks to the dual driver in each bud the sound quality is top notch. Also the cables are said to be tangle proof a big plus in my book!

The only thing I can think of to criticise in the small number of different sized tips (3) supllied. Similar priced in-earphones usually have about 5 pairs and the Monster Pro series come with around 15 pairs of tips of all shapes and sizes. That said the Monster Pro Gold's I have can't match these either in terms of sound or build quality.

There is a lot of competition in the £200 range for Earbuds, Klipsch, Shure, Monster Turbine to name but three but these are the best of the bunch. Highly recommended!

    Best headphones ever?

    • Written by from Richmond

I don't normally write reviews, but this product is absolutely amazing and deserves one.

First off, the sound quality is breathtaking, but you better make sure that the quality of your music is up to scratch. Secondly, build quality is outstanding, not sure how long they will last but they certainly look like they will last for ages (2 year warranty helps).

More details about the sound you get from these: loads of tracks have all of a sudden expanded into a variety of sounds I'm sure you've never heard separately before. You music will sound in a different way. I've tried few tracks with guitars, drums, vocal and synths, and on many occasions I had to close the eyes, because the sheer pleasure of music going into my ears was overwhelming. It's like being at a concert and the band just starts playing your favorite track. Whilst listening to electronic music, on the other hand, it's like one of the reviewers said, - there's a nightclub in your ears. Bass literally fills the entire space around you. Highs and mids, represented by separate speakers sound ridiculously good, too. There's nothing about these headphones I can fault. Honestly, even the way they packed everything in the box, including accessories, will make you go "wow".

One minor thing, though, they're a bit big to wear at the beginning, but once you position them in your ear lobe properly and use correct size earbuds, they will become virtually unnoticeable. But the sound quality will take care of the rest.

Huge bass, highs 'sharp as acid'

    • Written by from Birr

My conscience told me I was crazy to consider ear-buds for €250 -have had Shure E2C's for few years (paid over £100 stg.) and though they are much better than most of the junk out there - there was always tracks with strong bass that they couldn't handle, also they are a bit of a hassle to put in/take out. I am a bass-player so bass is of huge importance. I also use sennheiser's at home (HD465's).
So received my Super Darts in two days and have just tried them - all I can say is I am blown away, they are literally awesome. Bass is superb, but also the highs are crystal sharp. They are much more comfortable than my shure's and have a minimalist feel, but whats there is top quality. The cable is Kevlar shrouded for tangle-free and cut/.wear proof. I had memorised several tracks that gave trouble before and the Darts had no problem - just get them - you will love them !!

WOW depending on what use!! and YES BUY!!

    • Written by from Bishops Stordford

I have them and I love them...these will be some of the best looking and for most of us will be the best sounding in ear phones one will own for a long time. The sheer capability of these sets are incredible and durable for a life time. the mid range isn't the best compared to say Klipch X10i or high end Shure headphones, mid range I would give it say 3 1/2 maybe 4 out of 5 but they sure do scream in all other factors especially BASS.

The BIG BUT is if you do sports they are not for you 100% as they will fall off very easily due to its twin speakers in each headphone, they are made of metal so they are a little heavily construction, (I use apple ones for gyming).

I think for those who know about headphones and in ear phones Beats by Dre are rip offs. they have better sound quality then the generic with a high endorsement and high price (sorry to say but it's true). Atom Looks Great, Feels Great, above all Sounds Great and to top it off it will last a looooooong time because of its construction, I mean LOOOOOONG!!!

    Simply Brilliant

    • Written by from Beckenham

Wow. I am a self-professed audiophile, all of my music lossless, despising mp3, and loathing headphones that do not provide a solid acoustically balanced experience.

When my current favourites broke due to what I'd consider a design flaw I went in search for a new pair and looked for *months*. Figured I'd wait until I was in the US to look there, too, but couldn't find anything that made the grade however saw these on the Apple website, but only in the UK - not the US, so waiting until I returned to check them out.

Of all the headphones I've purchased to date (and there have been many, all of them top quality), these have simply crushed everything.

The sound from these headphones, once you've got the right size plugs (or just cheat - use moldable earplugs with a hole in them for the darts), the bass alone is jaw tingling.

I wondered how a pair of headphones could get nothing but 5 star reviews however once you've tried these out (make sure you use lossless audio source!!!) you will cringe at the sound other headphones produce.

These headphones are head and shoulders above everything I’ve had to date (Shure, Etymotic, Perfect Ears, etc.) with a build quality that is absolutely stunning. You don’t have the worry of an earbud falling out and stepping on it, as these are *steel*, nor concern the earpiece may break (as some plastic ones have, including my last pair) as they’re *steel*.

The cord simply doesn’t tangle, and the moment you hit play and perfect, lossless audio takes you away, you’ll realise you’ve spent your money wisely.

If you love audio, you'll love these.

I've had these since before they were released, I was sent them by Atomic Floyd, and they are absolutely amazing. A few things I don't like however are the fact that they changed the carry case from the old leather case to a new silicon type case that seems to collect a lot of lint and dust from pockets. Also I'm not too fond of the new remote, I preferred the 'drum' single button remote they had on previous models, however the volume rocker is a welcomed addition. But I wouldn't let that hold you back from buying them, given the price and the build quality, and most of all the sound quality you do get, they are fantastic.

They have excellent sound isolation, and virtually no sound leak, so people cannot hear what you are listening to even at high volume, provided you have the right sized buds fitted for you ears. They have a very rich, deep bass that adjusts well to any genre of music, and unlike some others I've used the bass isn't overpowering. I've used high end headphones and in-earphones for a long time, but with these I found myself hearing instruments and sounds I didn't know certain songs contained. They really do bring new life to old songs, you'll hear them in a completely different way.

    Truly amazing sound!

    • Written by from London

I was sceptical about paying this much money for in-ear headphones but I don't regret buying these for one second. The sound is unbelievable! They're comfy to wear, they don't fall out of my ears (like some people suggested they might), they look great and (most importantly) they make all of my music sound ace - not just the electronic / dancey / bassy stuff (although that does sound especially awesome)! Worth every penny in my humble opinion. I couldn't be more impressed!

    Forget about Dr Dre Beats

    • Written by from Manchester

Don't really do reviews but have to give these babies some credit. After wasting much money on the rubbish Dr Dre Beats, which is style over substance, the SuperDarts is mind blowing. It takes you to another level on most genres (although you have to fiddle with the itunes EQ to the type of music you listen to get the best out of it), crystal clear and strong bass at the same time, and no background 'fuzzy noise' even if you turn up to the maximum volume! But have to say among the different genres, if you're into electronica such chemical brothers, you're in heaven! So if you have £200 budget, don't think twice, get these!

    Pure class

    • Written by from Wigan

I'd never underestimate or leave out the implications of what i pay for an item when giving a review or score but even includig the purchase price these SuperDarts were impressive from the moment I opened the box onwards, however ignoring the packaging, excellent build quality, anti tangle lead, positive click remote control and ideal overall weight the precision, pace of delivery and depth of sound from an in ear pod is truly amazing. They look a little flashy, but don't be fooled these are more about control, authority and enjoyment. If the not insignificant purchase price doesn't immdiatley put you off, for me there is nothing to worry about.

Can't get any better than these truly amazing crisp clear sound. One thing I have to point out, because of the crisp clear sound u can hear a hissing sound in the background of mp3 which other headphones don't pick up so high quality music files such as .flac music files (aka Lossless) is highly recommended.

    Believe the hype

    • Written by from London

Bought these yesterday after reading several reviews online and have to say they are brilliant headphones. The sound is big and immersive and quite unlike any other in-ear phones I've used. The only thing I'd change is the inline remote - quite high up the lead and not as easy to grab hold of when out and about. A minor detail when the sound is so good.

Put these in your ears with a piece of music you're familiar with, then swap back to your old ones, then switch back again.......and I guarantee you'll never touch your old ones again!

The sound from these little metal plugs is astounding, yes I know they're a little on the pricey side, but hey, you buy cheap, you buy twice.....look on these little suckers as an investment!

    Exceptional Sound!

    • Written by from carlton

After a long exhausting search and reading many reviews I finally made the decision to buy these very expensive Atomic Floyds. I was reluctant to pay such a price at first but they were worth every single penny.

It is very difficult these days with so many different brands and styles of headphones available, to find the ones that are right for you. People have different tastes and therefore reviews can be very varied.

However the Atomic Floyd SuperDarts are magnificent. The sound is perfectly balanced and has great depth. I personally enjoy a good amount of bass and these deliver, but do not over power.

They come with a selection of ear buds and feel really comfortable. They are stylish yet very robust design. When I first held them I feared that they might be slightly too heavy and fall out of my ear but once you have the right ear buds on they sit perfectly in the ear and it takes a reasonable pull to make them fall out.

I do not regret my purchase at all, Excellent product!!!

i bought these headphones last new year and i must say they are really the best IEMs i have ever used from turbine copper, tour and shure. the sound quality is the best, build q uality is top notch and what can i say after sales customer support is one of the best. i tore my small ear tips after 2 days and they sent me 2 pairs no questions asked. my only complaint is the carry pouch its too small and they should have made the cord connector to the IEM kevlar too. over all its worth every penny.

    Up there with the best!

    • Written by from BARNSTAPLE

I did a reasonable amount of research before I bought these, and of all the 'higher end' I.E.M.s + earphones I read about, there were always one or two things I couldn't get over; mainly, loads were 'over the ear' type, which I didn't want, and quite a few great earphones gave a 'neutral' sound, which usually means not much bass! Well sometimes there is supposed to be bass! But all the professional reviews (there are quite a few!) of Superdarts seem to be glowing! Saying they handled all types of music really well! Actually I couldn't find a bad word against them, other than, can you justify £200? Well I could, so I bought some, and they are GREAT! High end sounds are crisp and detailed without being harsh. Mid range reveals things you never noticed before. Bass is exactly where it is supposed to be, not boomy over + everything, but deep dry clean controlled bass you can feel as well as hear. I've never heard bass drum like this! Clearly every dry thump. Sometimes the music is surprising, almost startling definitely in a good way, it has reaching for your iPhone /iPod to see what the track is! Stereo separation is better than anything I've had before, and soundstage (although not up to Senn HD250 levels) is very good! I can honestly say now I can hear a difference in the recorded bitrate, up till now I have everything in 128kbs because I couldn't really hear a difference. Now I can. But don't worry all music is improved, 128kbs really is OK. I'll re-do my tunes in 256kbs sometime. (Big task) Noise isolation is excellent, comfort is very good, (small buds where I normally use medium!?) To sum up: Smooth, crisp, deep, natural, thrilling, immersive + enjoyable. So enjoy!

    Best money I've ever spent!

    • Written by from moseley

I held off buying these for a while after hearing lees than great reviews for atomic floyds older stuff, but finally caved in and got these today after some good reviews on headfi.org

I normally run full size beyer dt 770s at home as my main phones through an amp, so I'm all about sound quality, so I really wasn't too sure what to expect from these. Turns out they destroyed my expectations!!!

The build quality is superb, although the really thin top section of the cables was a bit worrying web yanking them out of the packaging. Other than that they are superb though, solid lumps of steel that I can't see breaking for years.

More importantly though is the sound, they are simply stunning! The crispness and clarity are amazing, and with a super rich a buttery bass they are the best sounding phones I've heard. The twin drivers work wonders to separate the top end and vocals, with them always staying pin sharp, even wen the dirtiest filthiest bass line is playing. Really good separating, and cymbals and vocals, guartar pick ups and so much more just have amazing clarity and detail over any other phones I've used. Plus the bass is phenomenal, and unlike most bass heavy phones as its driven from a separate driver it doesn't cause the rest of the sound to become muddied.

One word of advice though, the very first time you use them the top end is so clear and detailed it is almost painfull, let them run in for a few hours and they sound much better. A good overnight burnin leaving them playing and they will be even better.

I really wasnt too sure about spending this much cash on phones especially something I couldn't actually trial first, but this is genuinely the best money I have ever spent!! Love them.

But bear in mind if you listen I low quality music, stuff captured off YouTube or whatever they will really bring out the limitations. Tunes direct of iTunes and other higher rated quality downloads are just eargasmic though!!
