Connect your DSL or cable modem to AirPort Express and create your new wireless network in just a few taps from your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If you're using OS X Lion, use the built-in AirPort Utility on your Mac. Setup is just as fast and just as easy.
Simultaneous dual-band 802.11n.
AirPort Express lets Wi-Fi-enabled devices connect to your network on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless bands. Which means every connected device automatically uses the best band available for the fastest possible performance.
Stream music with AirPlay.
AirPlay takes the music from the iTunes library on your computer or iOS device and sends it wirelessly to any connected stereo or speakers in your home (audio cable sold separately). Play music on one set of speakers — or if you have more than one AirPort Express connected to speakers, play your music from iTunes on all of them at the same time.
Print wirelessly from any room.
On the back of AirPort Express is a USB port that’s made for your printer. Just plug it in and, instantly, it’s like having a printer in every room. And since AirPort Express works with Mac and PC, everyone in the house can take advantage of one centrally available printer.*
Compatibility and security.
AirPort Express is compatible with devices using the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n specifications. So no matter what Wi-Fi device you’re using, it will work with AirPort Express. AirPort Express also features a built-in firewall to protect your network from malicious Internet attacks. The firewall is automatically turned on, so you don’t have to do a thing.
Create a guest network.
Set up a separate Wi-Fi network with a separate password just for your guests. Simply enable the guest networking feature, and your guests can access the Internet but not other parts of your primary network, such as your computers, printers and LAN-attached hard drives.

- Wireless Internet access requires a wireless-enabled computer or device, a base station or other access point, and Internet access (fees may apply). Some ISPs are not currently compatible with AirPort Express.

Exactly what I needed
Got one of these yesterday ... and it's brilliant ... only 10 minutes after it arrived I was streaming music from my iPad to my Hi Fi. and the quality is brilliant ... must be a good DAC in there.

About Time...
Normally don't write reviews but this looks like exactly what I need.
I had to rate it as five stars to compensate for the revi ewer that decided it only warranted one star because it now has a separate power cable rather than just plugging it in to the wall.

Brilliant for streaming music to my old and fantastic stereo
Wow, what a huge gift. I have an old stereo I really like. I want to hook it up to stream music from my Mac and/or iPhone. Was con cerned that it wouldn't work or that the sound quality would be less than what I hoped.
But it is WONDERFUL. Amazing. A beautiful tiny white box with a reassuring green light. Thought it would be complicated or that it would somehow interfere with my wireless network. But it's all better than I could have imagined. The sound quality is superb (bought a good quality cable to go to the AUX in the amplifier.
Airport express works with analogue and digital. It's wonderful. No need to get rid of that old stereo (if it's good). This is the easiest way to bring it into the 21st century. …- Written by Joan M from London

Excellent and just works
I bought this unit today from Newcastle apple store, got it home and after an easy set up I now have my music from Ipad, Iphone 5 and mac blasting through my hifi.

Fantastic Product it works even better when paired with apple devices.
To all pc users stick to cheap unreliable pc world nonsense, to all MAC fans this product is for us, simply it works. If you purch ase this item please make sure you have optic broadband to see the full potential if you use a simple BT type and your internet speed is 3meg or less don't bother to use it as a internet streaming device to your equipment, if its only to use for home sharing or access your iTunes then yes its great. The worlds easiest device to set up less than ten minutes to set up via Mac pc, iPod iPad iPhone and the airport utility for windows. Love this device apple do deliver all the time (except thunder bolt adapter, WHY change something that worked really well).
I install this equipment in clients homes who want a cheap reliable multi-room audio System and I have never had a complaint from clients, Altho they should incorporate video too that would be the best device in this current market. It will give all top manufactures of multi-room equipment for footballers homes a run for their money.
Highly recommended.
