Serious noise / interference problems - as widely reported

    • Written by from LONDON

I purchased one of these (expensive) adaptors for use with a new MacBook. Unfortunately there is serious interference on black parts of the screen. Many other users have encountered this, so I don't believe my experience is uncommon. More

doesn't work properly with Macbook Pro (late 2008) and Dell 30" monitors

    • Written by from LONDON

beware, doesn't work with a Macbook Pro (late 2008) and any Dell 30" (3007wfp /3007wfp-hc), every so often the infamous 'fuzz of death' appears and your screen will be unreadable, leaving only a re-boot or unpluging/repluging the adpater to bring the screen back, but only for awhile.

check out the forums for details, especially the thread intitled - 'periodic Dual-link display problem with new adapter'.

very poor show from Apple to release a faulty product.

Serious issue with non Apple displays

    • Written by from Swindon

Beware of buying this accessory, if you have a non-Apple 30" display then it will almost certainly cause problems. It is regrettable that Apple should put its loyal customers in this position. A 30" monitor is a significant investment, and it may not be viable for people to replace their perfectly good displays with the Apple display so that they can receive reliable performance. My hope is that this is merely a software issue that can hopefully be corrected via a software update. More

I have an i7 Mac Mini and a Dell 27" monitor. EVERY time the Mac wakes from sleep, the screen is all snowy, needed me to switch the monitor off and back on. On a couple of occasions the screen will not clear until a full restart, and one a few occasions, I have had the Mac lockup showing the "Please Restart Your Computer' screen.

    Absolute rubbish!

    Poor

Adapter version 1.03 bought 16/08/2011. Terrible noise interference on starting up. It is necessary to drop resolution to 1920 x 1080. Then back up to 2560 x 1440. Works fine until next reboot. Mac mini -> Dell U2711. Disgusting price for this item, even if it worked correctly. More
