Appalling, what a rip off. So annoyed.

    • Written by from Chepstow

These cables are so expensive and barely last long enough for you to forget about the annoyance at having to buy the previous one.

    Poor Quality Cable

    • Written by from Westhill

Lost count how many replacement cables I have had to buy for the family. The lightning end of the connection doesn't take kindly to any sideways angulation as this seems to dislodge the wiring and the cable becomes useless. Im not talking carelessness here, just normal use. The cables are not worth £15-£25.

    What a crock...

    • Written by from Southsea

Overpriced and completely rubbish. I've gone through half a dozen in 2 years. Official leads are way too fragile (at £15 a pop). iPhone's don't like Unofficial leads (a tenth of the price!). Come on Apple, sort this out. We pay hundreds of £'s for iPhones and you give us shoddy charging cables. It's completely unacceptable. No wonder you're losing market share. I selected 1 star as there's no option to mark the leads as zero stars.

Cheaply made, poor quality, EXPENSIVE to buy.

    • Written by from Nottingham

These cables really are diabolical, they're so expensive to buy at £15.00. They last about 3 days even if you treat them like a 1 day old baby. I really hope they sort something out with this cable, there was never this many problems with the previous charger, my question is to Apple, why they make their phones such good quality and so beautifully crafted and such clever software, why they then go and make a rubbish charger to power their devices? I do hope you get this sorted out soon. It's costing me a fortune!!!

I have had 4 of these cables in the past month and they are absolutely terrible. Constantly braking. These cables have put me off Apple products. Apple really need to do something about this problem. Sick to death of having to pay for new ones every other week.

Rotten apples - should be ZERO stars.

    • Written by from london

I've got many, many, many of the old charger cables knocking around, they're threadbare, tattered, smelly, BUT THEY STILL WORK.
I've got so many lightning chargers knocking around that are brand spanking new, sub 1 month old, and they DO NOT WORK!

I'm very, very tired of buying new cables -en mas, because you simply don't know when they're going to break- to compensate for an apple design floor. The apple geezers will not replace them, even though they are clearly faulty, because … 'Sorry, they are broken due to usual wear and tear, therefore we will not replace.'

I'm really careful and do not pull on the cable, instead I only hold the hard plastic interface - which is ridiculously small btw, is this a cynical ploy? -, they still break.

When this phone grinds to a halt - which it will - I’m going to buy an android phone.

    3 chargers

    • Written by from maidenhead

i have just purchased another new charger, this is my 4th one and my ipad is still only 10 months old, my friend has the genius idea of wrapping selotape around the top of hers to protect the end, and another pal put the spring from a pen around hers, simple ideas, looks a little naff, but if it keeps me from spending £25 every 2/3 months, then im game, so this purchase, if the tricks work, will be my last purchase for a while..............watch this space!!

would rather give this NO STARS at all

    • Written by from Portsmouth

I am so tired of the charger and battery problems with the iPhone's... The original charger for the 4 was perfectly adequate and since the change to the lightening cable I have never been able to get a decent charge. I've had to replace the cable so often it's ridiculous and since Apple made it virtually impossible to use chargers that aren't Apple made they could at least make one that does the job for more than a few weeks. Your products aren't cheap, but I would happily pay more for a good product... You no longer make reliable products. Get your house in order and stop disappointing loyal customers.

I have replaced this cable countless times, I am surprised with the amount of 1 star ratings on here
they have not done anything to sort the problem out, I have been extra careful with my recent cable
and oh look its broken again, one minute it charges next minute it knocks off, what an absolute nightmare.

Nevermind the fact ios8 has installed so much rubbish on my phone that I do not need and taken up loads of
storage space, I WAS a dedicated apple fan but my next phone will be a samsung I am afraid as I have had
enough of their products poor quality.

The one thing that lets the iPhone 5 down is purely the charger. I keep my things in excellent condition and within 6 months my charger broke. Not even had this phone a year yet, I've gone through 10 chargers. It's disgraceful, they are made so poorly. Very disappointed.

Worse of the worse out of all the past USB cable by Apple. Just when you started twisting the lead to be more suitable on your coffee table or placing it on a table, after a while, the line under the plug will start tangling up, then self-splitting then reveal a bare thin wire attached within. If that cable is as available as the one before, I'd never ever use Apple one.

Best is when you connect iPhone at night-shows it's charging-and in the morning you late for work
    because phone was dead.Nice :-(

    Yet another dead cable!

    • Written by from Dursley

When it first came out the lightning connector seemed cool, but it's proven to be incredibly unreliable. The port itself seems really delicate and prone to failure at the slightest hint of dust in there and the cables are just way too fragile. I've been through 4 official Apple cables now. Thankfully some of the third party ones are more sturdy AT A QUARTER OF THE PRICE.

Seriously disappointed at Apple's poor quality cables. When we pay £700 for a phone we expect a premium product, not this rubbish.

    I've had an iphone 4, 4s & now 5s.
Yet they can't make a properly working charger..
I rather change the brand of my phone, than spend another penny on buying another charger.

    This is just ridiculous!

im so sick of replacing this cord in the last 3 three months ive gone threw 3 cords. the first time i put it down to me being careless and pulling on the cord and the wires came out. how ever after being more vigilant with the next two and making sure to never pull on the cord the same thing is still happening! they are so poorly made and at 15 - 25 pounds you would think the quality would be a lot better! FIX YOUR PRODUCT APPLE!
