Serious noise / interference problems - as widely reported
I purchased one of these (expensive) adaptors for use with a new MacBook. Unfortunately there is serious interference on black par ts of the screen. Many other users have encountered this, so I don't believe my experience is uncommon. …

doesn't work properly with Macbook Pro (late 2008) and Dell 30" monitors
beware, doesn't work with a Macbook Pro (late 2008) and any Dell 30" (3007wfp /3007wfp-hc), every so often the infamous 'fuzz of d eath' appears and your screen will be unreadable, leaving only a re-boot or unpluging/repluging the adpater to bring the screen back, but only for awhile.

Serious issue with non Apple displays
Beware of buying this accessory, if you have a non-Apple 30" display then it will almost certainly cause problems. It is regrettab le that Apple should put its loyal customers in this position. A 30" monitor is a significant investment, and it may not be viable for people to replace their perfectly good displays with the Apple display so that they can receive reliable performance. My hope is that this is merely a software issue that can hopefully be corrected via a software update. …

Good for Macbook Pro to 30" CInema Display
I purchased this adapter as I had to after purchasing a 30 inch Apple Cinema display for use with my Mid 2009 MacBook Pro. The dev ice itself works very well and as it should, allowing a flawless connection between the two devices. However the price of £70 is ridiculous, I had no choice but to pay the fee however it shouldn't be that much, maybe £40.
If you are going to buy this and use it with a big monitor make sure that your graphics card is up to scratch as in full screen mode (watching a video or film) the monitor is dropping frames sometimes. It's really not an issue for me though. And movies in VLC media player always seem to work flawlessly for some reason. …- Written by Hugh T from Cwmbran

The adapter works - check the cable
Bough the adapter and tested two cables that LOOKED like dual-link DVI - didn't work for DELL3007WFPHC. Thought I would return it .
When putting the cables back, noted another one labelled Dual-Link DVI. Tested, works perfect. …- Written by Lucian I from London

it works fine
The device works well. It needs to use one USB port, not just the mini-display port. Having read some earlier reviews, I was not f ully sure it would be working without disruptions, but everything is fine so far, although the price is quite extreme. …
