How do I know when my question has been answered?

When you ask a question you can choose to automatically receive email alerts whenever new answers arrive. And once you've received the answer you need, you can just as easily turn off the alert.

How does an answer become a Best Answer?

The Questions & Answers service uses a complex algorithm combined with the number of "Useful" votes along with several other factors to identify a "Best Answer".

Do I need to own a product that I am answering a question about?

No. However, the more experience you've had with a product, the more helpful your answer will be.
