Overview

Apple Remote with iPod and iPhone

If you connect your iPod to a home stereo, powered speakers or TV set, the Apple Remote lets you experience your songs, slide shows and more from across the room. Plug your iPod into the Universal Dock and choose a play list, slide show or video. Then sit back, relax and enjoy. Ready to move on to the next song? No need to get up. Just press the Next button on the Apple Remote. Getting a call on your iPhone? Press Pause, then pick up where you left off.

The Apple Remote requires the iPod Universal Dock and any iPod with a dock connector, or any iPhone.

Apple Remote with Mac

The Apple Remote gives you total command of your music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the room. It works with Front Row - a menu-based, full-screen interface - to make accessing the digital content on your Mac as simple as navigating your iPod. When you press the Menu button, your desktop fades and the sleek, Front Row interface takes its place, to give you control over your music in iTunes, your photos in iPhoto, the videos in your Videos folder and your DVDs. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on your DVD. Play a slide show, a home video that you made in iMovie, even a film trailer.

Compatible with Apple products introduced in 2005 or later that have a built-in infrared (IR) receiver.

Apple, this is AWESOME. The first remote was a TOTAL fail compared to this. This thing is the toughest, smallest piece of machinery THAT works. :P More

I was disapointed when i bought this wonderful remote and tried to put it on the side of my iMac like i did for my old ine. Wrong first of all the back surface is not flat its curvedd for design which doesnt have enough surface area to stick to the side of the imac.Later I tried sticking a stronger extrenal magnet to it and fould out its not magnetic at all. I thought it was magnetic.Overall it's a great remote and i like the ipod click wheel volume control too! More

    Hard to press buttons.

    Written by MD from Miami

    17-Dec-2009

The remote is beautiful in every respect except usage. Pressing buttons is hard because of the lack of tactile differentiation. The main issue is with the directional buttons vs the center button. If one is not looking it's easy to confuse them and press the wrong button. So you might find yourself having to look at the remote to see where you are pressing.

That's unacceptable. There is no reason Apple can't make a remote that's tactile enough to easily differentiate among keys and easily press without looking. Actually they did, the old Apple remote works perfectly in this regard.

Once again Apple has managed to take the simple and keep it there. A simple remote control milled from a single piece of aluminum - it really feels good in your hands - brilliant. More

Great product!! Fits nicely in your hand. It has a quality feel to it. Worked with my MacBook and Apple TV without a problem. Jonathan did another great job designing this masterpiece. Can't wait to get my iMac! Keep up the great work! More
