really glad i bought these speakers

    • Written by from LAKE FOREST

excellent sound quality and they look good sitting beside my iMac.

only minor complaint is sometimes the mac doesn't recognize they're connected as external usb speakers. have to unplug and replug a few times.

    would buy them again though.

    Best Computer Monitor Speakers!

    • Written by from Regina

B and W always make great speakers! These speakers are awesome in sound quality. They are quite HI-Fi standard! Just remember when you install them via USB to re-boot your Mac!Initially the sound was all bassy and no treble but on rebooting this all corrected. Also poor quality songs (MP3) will sound poor! There is no software to download. Also the remote is not necessary if you are using the USb interface.
Just use your Mac keyboard or volume icon at the top!

    Run, don't walk

Wait a year for the R11 to go on sale and head to Apple store now. Yes, the bass is magnificent for a speaker this small but the coloring of the mids and the crisp high end is stunning.

You wallet will have serious indigestion but when you find yourself enjoying talk radio podcasts or OK Computer and you have not reached for the remote to your main stereo system your wallet will find comfort.

Then start saving for the P5s for travel.

    Cheers.

I am particular about these types of things and these speakers greatly exceeded by expectations. Much much better than BOSE. I cannot believe the sound quality - well worth the price. I am going to look for other B&W items and would recommend these speakers to everyone.

Although very expensive for desktops I am completely satisfied. The sound is expansive, powerfull and well balanced.

    In short,
    WOW!

Highly recommended if you have the cash.

    very impressive but....

    • Written by from Nepean

These are so good that it will make you need to improve the quality of your music collection which becomes quite the dilemma. That being my only complaint definitely is a good thing.

    These are worth every penny!

I've quickly become a fan of Bowers and Wilkins, I own both the MM-1 and the P5 in a months time. My bank account doesn't like these nearly as much as I do but worth while.

    Brilliant Sound...

    • Written by from Brooklyn

The range of sound is amazing, great highs, great lows, but everything in-between is where it counts. And these speakers have that. These are computer speakers, don't expect to fill a warehouse full of music, that said they are not quiet either. There is not a better set of speakers out there for your computer! Worth every penny!

    Fantastic sound & style

    • Written by from Winston Salem

I bought these to replace some Logitec 2.1 speakers that sounded OK but were bulky and had too many cables. These things sound much larger than they are and their sound is much more accurate than the logitec or my computer's built-in speakers. I imagine this is because they have a better DAC built-in. Also the nice thing about them being USB is they will turn off with the computer - though they do not auto-power on.

    Would highly recommend these.

I'm just one step below an audiophile - in other words I can appreciate high quality gear but don't always insist on it.

I picked these up last weekend and have been blown away by the detail and quality of the sound. I am hearing notes and detail in songs that I've never heard before on my iMac. Despite the lack of a sub, these guys hit most of the low notes and wht they do produce is simply amazing.

B and W Best in World

    • Written by from ANCHORAGE

These speakers sound so full and rich, amazingly accurate, just phenomenal. These are the best computer speakers that I have ever owned. I can say this with a lot of knowledge because I have had Bose speakers and other such as Polk Speakers for many years. B and W is the best of the best!

Best speakers i ever owned for the computer.. I bought my dad an A7 for Christmas and was blown away.. These are such a step up from Bose it is not even funny. I like not having the big woofer as well.. I wish I had there surround for my TV. maybe next year. Bowers and Wilkins is the new level of perfection for sound docks and speakers.. I love there range and how they don't get distorted like Bose. I like my music LOUD. I listen to jam bands, jazz, fusion. classic rock. and you hear much much more with these speakers than a Bose unit. I will NEVER buy Bose again. the Price is more than justified in these speakers as well as the A7

This has been one of the best computer-related purchases I have ever made. I've owned my B&W MM-1s for about 2 months now and have enjoyed listening to them every day. Sound is incredible and bass response is definitely sufficient. I think the sound actually rivals that which my B&W 704 Floor Speakers produce. Are the MM-1s pricey? Not for the sound they put out. Go for it. Apple is to be commended for selling such a great product that otherwise is available only through select audio dealerships.

After listening to the B&W MM-1's in the Apple store I had the serious wants..lol. Well, the jolly fat guy brought them on Xmas. Nice crisp, bright sound with the right amount of bass. I'm using them with a MacBook Air 11" and monitor. Take advantage of the USB connection. I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend
    these speakers.

    INSANE sound... I'm speechless.

    • Written by from Staten Island

These things are great. I recently purchased the new iMac and noticed the speakers weren't all that great. I needed something small and clean, also wanted something that would sound great. I stopped in at the Apple store and listened to the Bose systems there and wasn't all that pleased. They had these setup on a Macbook Air for demonstration and they sounded pretty nice. I figured let me try these and if they aren't all that I will return them.

I cant believe how great these sound when I hooked them up at home. Theres no sub, less wires, no clutter and they look great with my setup. They sound amazing and I am so happy I bought them. I was concerned about the bass issues since there was no sub but once I played some of my own tunes I liked and it sounded awesome and I am extremely satisfied.

Speakers for people who love to listen to music

    • Written by from Veldhoven

I have had these speakers for over one year. I also have Bowers and Wilkins floor-speakers for my audio stereo set-up. Those speakers are about 15 years old and they are no match to the MM-1. I even prefer the sound of the MM-1 for the living room compared to the large standing floor speakers.

I listen to a wide range of music, from classical to alternative rock and the quality (clarity and a perfect distinction between sounds) is more important than volume. I think the bass is amazing for such a small package. I like to playback the music like it is recorded. I would not turn up bass or treble on any stereo.

For those who want loads of bass, this is not for you, for those who listen to music all day, this is the stuff you want, perfect stereo set-up around your work-place.

Some reviews mentioned white-noice, I have none of that. Even though they are plugged in through an additional USB ports-cable.
