I bought this Bose companion 2 series II yesterday and I'm very pleased with it. The sound quality is excellent and the speakers go very well with my McBook. I don't have any negative things to say about it. It's everything that I have looked for computer speakers. The design and the looks are appealing. The price I paid is very much worth it.

I read a bunch of reviews to figure out which set of speakers I should get to go with my macbook and yesterday I decided to pick up these. So far, they have been simply amazing! They are very well built, easy to use/hook up, and are portable. The sound is very clear and music sounds so much better. These won't shake the house or anything, but they can get loud enough! Worth every penny and I would highly recommend them!

Worth every penny....

i bought these to go with (for the time being) my old imac 17" and sometimes ibook g4, meanwhile, getting ready for my next new imac and macbook pro.

i got totally blown away by their powerful and yet clear sound quality. it is so easy to set up and to adjust the volume. i have never heard my apples sing so loud and well. they are an amazing pair.

they are definitely worth the price plus a 2-day delivery i paid for.

I know that Bose is known for legendary speaker systems but hearing is believing. I purchased these speakers a month ago and continue to be blown away by the sound quality.

A bit of advice though... if you want to get the best out of your speakers, make some adjustments. The first thing I did was pop open iTunes and make a custom equalizer preset for the speakers and did the same thing for the SRS iWOW plugin for iTunes which adds intense depth to the sound. I took my time fine tuning adjustments before I saved the presets. Believe me it will make all the difference in the world. Music sounds crisper with a full range of sound and movies will knock your socks off!

Now for the actual construction of the speakers... Lets just say it blends perfectly with my new iMac. From the pinhole metal grille to the easy access headphone port and volume control they are a thing of beauty. If you are into wimpy lightweight plastic speakers, then these are not for you. They are solidly constructed. The primary speaker also allows for an auxilary audio input on the back via a RCA cable. I haven't used this feature yet, but it is nice to know it is there if I ever want to connect my stereo and computer to the same speakers.

I bought these to replace my old (at the time pricey) Monsoon speakers at work. I have to play music softly at my desk, and these good-looking, sweet little speakers were a great purchase. I worried that I wouldn't get the full bass I was used to with the Monsoon subwoofer, but was more than pleased with the quality of the music this two-piece set emits. The speakers sound wonderful when they fill the room, but alas, I only get to crank them up to full volume at night, when everyone's gone...

This pair of speakers is a masterpiece of engineering. I've had mine for a while, bought them at Target for $99. I compared them to a three-piece speaker system from Bose that cost twice as much, and then to another three-piece set that cost even more from... shoot, can't remember the brand. By FAR, these speakers had the best, richest, most natural tone, with more than enough volume for me needs. Nowadays, I watch all DVDs on my MacBook Pro and I use these speakers for the sound. Also, I crank music through them, and they sound great. They sport a built-in dynamic limiter, so there is an upper limit volume-wise. But, they also don't distort, so the limiter is a trade-off.

These are an excellent set of desktop speakers. I was at the apple store and was looking at JBL's when one of the specialists showed me these speakers. I can honestly say that they sound excellent. For a pair of desktop speakers, these put out a great range of sound that has that trademark deep Bose sound. Stick with the best name in the business and go with the Bose!

These speakers have fantastic sound for their relative size and great bass reflex, especially for having no sub-woofer attached. If you're looking for bass to rock your world, these may not be it. However, if it's an intensely quality sound you're looking for with the ability to fill a room then these may be your best bet.

I've noticed that there is a sweet spot with these speakers. When you're sitting in front of them within a range of about ten feet, the sound just makes you want to kiss someone. After that, the sound remains loud, but the depth of the low ranges starts to dwindle. The bass can be heard but for some reason, it doesn't dominate like it does when you're in closer proximity to the unit.

Overall, these are the best investment I've made speakerwise and I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for space-saving fantastic sounding audio solutions.

I'm a Bose freak, along with my family. The cars all have Bose, we have two wave radios, I have the in-ear headphones, and most recently these speakers. As usual, Bose knows what they're doing. These speakers pack a lot of punch for such a small package. When I'm in the laundry room, I leave my music playing on my MacBook and can hear it loud and clear.

The only problem I do have is when I use them with my iPod. I have an iPod touch and when the volume is turned all the way up on the iPod itself, the sound quality gets incredibly distorted through the speakers. But that's a simple fix - turn down the sound on the iPod and turn up the speakers. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with these speakers.
