    Amazing Print Server Capabilities

    • Written by from Riverton

The router works amazing as a print server for the small business world. We were able to quickly setup Xerox and Canon printers, which made the process of network printer amazingly simple. Love this machine!

    Awesome router

    • Written by from westfield

Replaced my piece of &*#% Linksys router with this one. what a difference. I haven't had a device drop a connection since. I'm getting better download and upload speeds. the range has also increased significantly. the only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that it wouldn't recognize my NTFS NAS. I probably should have done a little more research, but that's life. I'd recommend this router to anyone. I also couldn't get a regular printer that didn't have AirPrint on it to work through the router.

    Airport Extreme and airport express

I just installed these 2 and the internet is lightning fast with full bars around my very large house. Very. Very satisfied apple customer. By the way, we are an apple product only household.

BUY THIS ROUTER, IT'S FAST, FAST, FAST,

    • Written by from Rehoboth Beach

I had a very new wireless router than was NOT inexpensive, and had lousy coverage, slow speed, and areas of my house where I could hardly get any signal. This router is absolutely a dream come true. You set it up with a simple app on your iPhone or iPad.....as easy as pie. It works PERFECTLY, and EVERYWHERE. All I have to say is, Apple products are not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. They work like no other on the market! And on top of all that, it's beautiful looking too!

    Does not do most things

    • Written by from NORTHBROOK

I have a Brother printer that's not wireless. I can print through Airport Extreme. But I can no longer scan because it does not talk back to my computer. ok, then I manually connect the USB back to my computer to scan, but then other printers do not print through Airport Extreme. If I connect my USB from my computer back to Airport Extreme, My computer does not print. I tried using a splitter, that does not help. I have to restart the router and wait!

This is not all. Dell computer loses WiFi connection completely as soon as it goes to sleep. So that the connection has to be deactivated and then reconnected each time you want to use internet.

Not what I expected to do when I got this. Linksys for $60 does a better job.

    Amazing speed easy setup

    • Written by from Winlock

I had been fighting for weeks trying to get the wireless router portion of my Actiontec C1000a modem to be reliable. If I unplugged it it would work fir maybe a day and then get super slow unless I rebooted it. Once in awhile it would work for couple if days. I tried adding a wifi repeater but still inconsistent.

I was skeptical about investing in AirPort Extreme. Boy am I glad I did! Setup was a breeze and wifi speed have never been this fast, ever! I can travel anywhere on our lot and have wifi reception. Coverage is phenomenal. You can't go wrong with the AirPort Extreme.

    Extremely pleased!

    • Written by from Canfield

My old AirPort Extreme got wiped out in an electrical storm the day this new one came out. I had to wait for a new one to be shipped from China but I am glad I waited. This new one can power 5 bars in areas that used to only see 1 or 2 with the previous model. Thanks Apple! I love it and I'm actually glad the old one got fried or I would never have upgraded.

    Great Router, great range

    • Written by from Chatsworth

This is my first Apple router, I usually would buy the other brands like netgear because I found them to be fast and have a greater range, I was excited that apple had finally released a new Router, I went and purchased this router right away, setup was SUPER easy, took 2 minutes literally, I love how consistent the connection is, never a drop in speeds, I do wish it had an setting where u can increase the power to increase or decrease the range so the whole neighborhood does not see it. But overall I love this router 5 STARS!!

Best router I have ever owned

    • Written by from Indianapolis

I upgraded from a decent Netgear dual-band N router, and the AirPort Extreme blows it away! Every aspect including speed, range, software, ease of use, and aesthetics. And I don't even have any AC compatible devices yet. I had tried a new Belkin AC router to increase range and was disappointed to find the Belkin had worse performance than the Netgear. The AirPort Extreme blows them both out of the water, though! This is my first Apple router and I am extremely impressed. Well done, Apple!

Solid Router- Fast, Stable and Reliable

    • Written by from Toronto

I've previously owned routers from D-link, linksys and asus, all of which gave me troubles that required me to restart the router on a daily basis.

Two months ago, I decided to give the apple airport extreme a chance and I was surprised by how much my wireless speed improved.

The most important factor (aside from speed) when it comes to routers is stability and reliability; out of the 2 months I've had it so far, I've experienced zero, yes 0 disconnections.

I also connected a 2TB western digital hard drive to the airport extreme and set up wireless time machine backup on 5 of my Macs, also works flawlessly.

This router may be a little more expensive than other brands, but as with many apple products, it is well-built and reliable.

    Best router I ever had.

    • Written by from Chambly

This is certainly the best router I ever had so far. For people who don't want to waste time configuring or do complicated tasks with their router, this is the one. And on top of that, the range is just amazing.

When it works is great. But when it doesn't is a pain

    • Written by from Aalborg

Now, I am a big fan of apple.... and it brakes my heart to say bad things about the brand I love. The extreme works great, it connects to my iMac with 1300Mb/s, and sees all of my devices everywhere in the house, except my little apple TV. Well, almost, it sees the TV, but it does not like the colour or something, because every time I try to connect the Apple Tv (3 gen) to it, I fail. First it says that the network is recognised but Date and Time cannot be acquired from the router, and it fails to connect to iTunes. I tried all the possible solutions to the problem, non of them work. I had to buy a second router, connect it to the extreme, and wirelessly connect the apple tv to it. The inexpensive branded router did the job flawlessly. So, Apple, please, if you are aware of the problem, give us a fix.

Replaced my 1st Generation Time Capsule

    • Written by from Warminster

My 1st generation Time Capsule was nearly 6/7 years old and was starting to show its age as far as sharing out my broadband so I decided to replace it with this and retire my Time Capsule to just back up duties.

So far the speed increase is unbelievable, if this one lasts as long as the one it replaced I will be very happy.

    love this product

    • Written by from New York

Once you go mac you never go back.I have had different routers and I may say since I had been using apple routers I would never buy anything else. Well built very strong signal easy to use and you can set up from you're I phone or any cell phone . You can change any set up on the router with you're cell and take charge. Find the router that is best for you but make sure it's an apple router. You will not be disappointed. Save some money now and this will be the only router you will need. Buy more than one apple router to reach those areas that are weak or no signal and they will connect automatically and find all the apple router in you're home and give you great signal coverage.

    • Written by from Phelan

I just bought this AirPort Extreme today took me less than 10 minutes to set up, it replaced an AirPort Extreme 4th gen. and a airport express also old my house is 3000 sq ft and before I was having issues on the far side of the house now it's a solid reception everywhere, did I mention my macs are old one is a 10 year old iMac the other is a 24 inch mac and one note book they all hooked without any problems, at first I was getting a message that my airport software was old but I ignore the note and my old mac began to configure the new router without any problems. This machines are amazing.

    More ethernet ports

    • Written by from Redwood City

Why oh why can't Apple put another couple of ports in this thing? There are only 3 usable ports in here after the WAN port. I have a NAS plus two VoIP phone lines, which leaves no room to connect my iMac up with hardline! I think this device, at $199, should have at least 7 usual ports after the WAN port. Look up the price of gigabit routers and other devices in this price range have at least 8 ports. 3 stars until it gets more ports, then 5.

Works for data, cuts out streaming music to airplay speakers

    • Written by from Jersey City

Yes, this works for data and backups. No, it does not support streaming music over airplay to airplay enabled speakers - luckily the previous gen works great with airplay.
