    Useless kit

    • Written by from Verwood

I recently bought this kit. It no longer works after updating my iPad to ios8. Do not waste your money. Apple do not have an answer.

Sd kit doesn't work with ios8

    • Written by from Raleigh

I loved my sd card connector for my iPad until I upgraded my system to ios8. If Apple has experienced this glitch with previous updates, why not address it before the update comes out??? Please fix ASAP. Some of us do have real cameras. Would give 4 stars, except you don't address this glitch when you know it is likely to happen!!

OK if you have a newer camera

    • Written by from Palmer

Bought this adapter to backup photos from my Canon G2 which I use on trips. Not possible. When the two are connected a get an incompatibility message - G2 is not supported. That makes the product a total waste for my purposes.

Tried it with a newer camera which other family members sometimes use and it worked OK but since they don't usually travel with me and I don't use their cameras it's useless.

I'm hoping to find an app that might work with the G2 but so far no luck and local "experts" say to blame the photo app that came with the iPad - not the adapter. So I'll keep looking.

    Amazing!

    • Written by from Keene

I love the connection kit so much! I used to have to use a computer to upload my pictures and send them to my phone. It would usually take me 1 hour just to send and load 3 pictures. Now it takes me 3 minutes just to upload and send them to my iphone! It's also very easy to use!

    Works like a champ!

    • Written by from Andover

Just picked one up from local Apple store and tested it with my iPad 2 that's running iOS 7.1.1. As soon as I connect it to my iPad 2 and insert the SD card it shows an "import" option under photos. Shows the thumbnails and lets me select and Import the photos to my iPad 2. After import gives me an option to keep or delete the imported photos from the SD card. Tried 2 different SD cards and they both worked fine. Was very skeptical after reading the recent reviews but it just works.

iPad Camera Connection Kit totally useless

    • Written by from Huddersfield

I have an iPad with IOS 7.1.2. Neither the SD Card Reader nor the Camera Connector works. The Photo application loads automatically but it says "No photos to import" although my Windows 7 PC reads them with no problem.
In general from my experience I believe the iPad is good for use in isolation but of little use if you want to use it with the other equipment I have tried.

Works perfectly with my Canon Eos Rebel T3

    • Written by from La Place

I purchased the CCK to edit pics on the go and to get them off of my camera (Canon Eos Rebel T3) without having to tote around my laptop. Works like a charm and very user friendly like all Apple products I've purchased. I read the reviews and was skeptical at first not knowing if my camera was compatible. No issues at all.

    No longer recognised by iPad

    • Written by from Sydney

Can only assume an iOS update has made this item redundant so surprised that this is still available for sale. Our camera hasn't changed but the device is now shown as an unrecognised accessory. Glad we tested before heading away again.

    Does what its meant to

    • Written by from Sunderland

Bought this to use with my iPad 2 then bought the Lightning adapter so I could use it with my newer iPad Mini. It works every time, picks up all the SD and SDHC cards I've tried with it and transfers reasonable quickly.

I shoot with a number of cameras and having this is a great way to make quick edits on the go, email images and upload to forums/FB etc. App such as Snapseed and PS Touch are fantastically powerful and the fact the iPads handle most RAW files straight out of the camera means I don't need to convert them to jpegs first. With the Mini being neat enough to stuff in a camera bag and carry everywhere I have found this kit invaluable when I don't have access to a laptop but want to edit a photograph.

Five stars and a happy customer.

    great product

    • Written by from Perth

works great with my ipad just a shame apple couldnt allow it users of iphones to have the same use
wouldve been a lot easier to transfer photos to iphone for display than go through the whole itunes route , which is a pain to say the least
along with app price rises , apples heading down the wrong path , cheaper to by magazines at newsagency in australia than purchase on the iPad

    Extremely poor experience

    • Written by from Coral Springs

In the past this product worked a few times, but whether the product failed or one of the iOS upgrades removed software support for the device, it no longer works. I plug the device in and then plug in an SD or SDHC card and "Photos" opens...but all it shows is the photos already on my iPad, and there is no menu option or popup to import photos or select photos for import from the SD card. Totally pointless. Either it is an unreliable device or it is unsupported by the most recent release of iOS...either way it is a waste of money.

    Wish I had this sooner

    • Written by from Canfield

I received this product from the Apple online Store for my Ipad 2 version 7.0.6. I plugged my Canon 7d into the USB connector. It immediately recognized the camera and allowed me to import all of my photos or to select the ones I wanted. Worked flawlessly! I wish I would have had this product on my recent trip to India.

Nice surprise: It works with an iPhone and GarageBand

    • Written by from kanata

I wasn't expecting this to work when I acquired it with a USB musical keyboard but I can confirm that the USB part of this set works with an iPhone 4 running iOS v7.1 connected to an M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 and GarageBand. So cool!

    Disappointed!

    • Written by from Buxton

The card reader works well enough but not with any of my USB cards. They all produce the error message that they draw too much power. This means that only half the kit works and this should have been made clear by Apple in its sales literature, in which event I would not had made the purchase.

IPad 3 and Camera Connection Kit - Next level of paid photography

    • Written by from Amherstburg

I am a freelance advertiser and commercial photographer and using the Camera Connection Kit with my iPad 3 ("new" iPad") has been seamless and priceless up to this point. It has allowed me and other photographers to work with clients and view our work on scene like has never before been possible even 5 years ago.

I am worried that upgrading to iOS 7 will ruin it for me so I have not updated my device yet, but apps are switching to it and I will need to catch up eventually.

Can Apple or someone give me a definitive answer.

CCK (30 pin) WORKED PERFECTLY FOR ME ON 1/4/14

    • Written by from Bonsall

After reading many reviews that the CCK did not work after the iOS 7 upgrade, I tried one anyway on my iPad 2. As soon as a 2GB SD card was plugged into the adapter, Photos opened and easily imported all the pix. Also, contrary to earlier warnings about subfolders, the pix were taken with a Panasonic camera that creates a subfolder within the DCIM folder - that was not a problem for my import either. Perhaps the reason the CCK works for me is that my version of iOS is the most current - 7.04.

No problems with a 3rd Generation iPad running iOS7

    • Written by from Bloomington

Several people have complained about this not working with an iPad 3rd Generation or iOS7. I've found it to work quite well. You connect and it shows up under iPhoto and you can import the photos or video you wish. In iPhoto, you do have to go into 'Albums' and then to "Last Import' or 'All Imported' to find the photos or video that you input to your iPad. Also, please give a moment for the upload to complete.

If there was a problem, it's been fixed. If someone still finds a problem, they should call tech support.

Hardware: iPhone 5, 3rd Generation iPad both running iOS7

Do not buy this product it does not work with new iOS.

    • Written by from White Rock

I have an iPad2 with retina display. This worked with iOS 6 but now that I was forced to up date iOS it no longer works. I just get the message that this accessory is not supported. Even though it was before and is made for my model? Call apple and get the long run around if I by the latest iPad air and a new adaptor it might work. I think apple has gotten so big they really don't give a dam about the stuff they make. Time to give Microsoft my business again. At least my new surface has a working usb for any type of peripheral.

    Not that useful.

    • Written by from Coquitlam

It only supports upto SDHC so i can use my 16gb, but not 64gb sd card.

It is already becoming an old obsolete product.

Also for usb, i was expecting to connect usb drive or usb card reader. Neither worked.
My ipad said it's drawing too much power.

So, USB port is not that useful, as you can only connect camera and iphone only.

    I am still using IOS6
