I recently bought this item on Boxing Day and have had it for a couple of days now. Just had to write a review because it is amazing. Its responsive, doesn't disconnect at all, easy to use and set up, and looks and works great with the Apple wireless keyboard. The only problem with it was clicking and select things. To solve this, just go on System Preferences, Trackpad, and select "Tap to click".

Overall, great product, highly responsive and highly recommend using with the wireless keyboard. Worth the money and great quality.

I bought this track pad a few months ago and recently realised i got so used to it that i never want to ever use the magic mouse which i was so comfortable with in the beginning.Time goes by and technology gets so advanced that we are forced to leave some things we liked.Anyway the track pad is very good to use and makes me access my computer very very comfortably.Iam sure the magic mouse has its advantages too.so its always my back up .Good technology apple!

I use my MBP in many different places but primarily at my office desk. When in the office, I want to use the MBP as a desktop replacement, so I purchased a Thunderbolt Display. When first using the MBP - Thunderbolt Display combination, I found using MBP keyboard and trackpad awkward.

As part of a solution, I purchased a Magic Trackpad. This would allow the MBP to sit back with the Thunderbolt Display. My fear was that it would not have the same feel as the MBP trackpad or that it would be difficult to use. My fears were unfounded!! It works every bit as well! In fact, the Magic Trackpad is so light and easy to use, I usually pack it for on-the-road use.

Apple got this perfect! 5 stars!

I have been an Apple / mac user since 1989. I have had great results with longevity of each Item I have purchased. I still have a working Mac SE. I bought a Magic Trackpad last year, October 10, 2011. It went crazy this week. I am very disappointed. I trusted Apple and they let me down. I have mice which are more than 10 years old.

My workflow is made simpler and gets done faster with the Magic Trackpad.

I am going to see it is repairable.

This trackpad is really cool... got it for less than 24 hours and I am already hooked with it. Noticed that some people don't know how to turn off. Hold the ON button for more than 2-3 secs to OFF it.

PROS -

- Nice high quality design and build
- Performs just like the trackpad on the lastest MBP's.
- Highly configurable
- Bluetooth (able to use this about 8ft. away from my computer with no problems)
- Works well under Windows 7 via Bootcamp

CONS -

- Ergonomically it should be designed a bit better.
– May take some people a bit of time to configure it to their personal needs.
- Edges should be rounded smooth

SUMMARY -

If you like the "trackpad" style of mouse-ing, then you may enjoy using this little gem.

My oldest boy has autism and as such my wife and I are incredibly busy. An iPad was recommended by his therapist as there are a number of apps that are really great for a kid in his situation (and i should add it's been awesome) . However after spending over $800 on an iPad, we're hardly going to buy a desktop as well. But no pointing device support for the iPad. This means it's way harder and slower than it needs to be to do the most basic computing tasks, there's support for a keyboard- why not pointing device? Seems a little greedy to ask people to buy iPods, phones, pads and laptops, when just one device COULD replace them all! Even without a visible cursor on the screen, a touchpad would make life so much easier!
Poor form Apple.

I'm a road warrior and have only worked from a laptop going on 16 years. I finally made room on my desk at home for a monitor so bought Apple keyboard and trackpad. Easy transition when I get the opportunity and no noise of a mouse being dragged across your desk. All the gestures like on the MBP.

This thing is really, really great. When it works. Unfortunately, more than half the time, it doesn't. It skips and jumps and skitters all over the place, magically turning your computer into a very heavy and expensive paperweight. Called Apple - they said go exchange it. I did. Second one acts exactly the same. Googling around I see I'm not the only one screaming in frustration over this. And apparently, there doesn't seem to be a fix. I would love to be able to use this. But not if it means every once in awhile, unexpectedly, I won't be able to use my computer. Love Apple. Despise this worthless little device.

The only magic I experienced with this device was when I made it disappear. I stopped using it after struggling with it for a few months. Here's why: Finding the right place to click is a mystery, it seems to change all the time. Right-clicking is a guessing game, I actually had to put a sticker on it so I could find the sweet spot. Why would there be a sweet spot on a trackpad? It's not a golf club. Here's another reason: if the batteries die (mine died during a Webex presentation to a room full of executives) it might lock up your main trackpad on your Macbook, so you can't do anything at all unless you manually disconnect Blue Tooth, using the tab and arrow keys. Or you happen to have a spare mouse in your pocket. Tough spot to be in during a serious presentation. One star for design, otherwise useless.
