    Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from Corning

I was told by a fellow photographer friend that I should have the Magic Trackpad because it would make my workflow go so much easier ( I use Adobe Lightroom ). I was having trouble with the MM as well as my Wacom tablet (using the pen) when adjusting. I use the Magic Mouse as well and when I got it I was very pleased by what that could do however I just received my Magic Trackpad today and can say it does a lot more. It make my work flow with LR extremely easy and just using my computer for anything has made me more "one with the computer" Best $ I have spent yet. Apple (Steve Jobs etc) is/are amazing.

    awesome

I spend an enormous amount of time working behind my mac, mostly all business. I always suffer somewhat with pain in both the arm and wrist from too much mousing. I tried an ergonomic mouse and found it did help somewhat but hated its accuracy and overall ability compared to the magic mouse. I bought the trackpad and WOW! Beautiful! Situate the preference window for the track pad next to the document you are working on so you can continually go back to the settings for adjustments as you learn its movements. Give it time. I keep the mouse next to it for CAD and BIM but otherwise I have completely reverted over to the pad. No more wrist and arm pain! Thank you MAC.

    AWESOME MAGIC!

this trackpad is awesome! I love how easy it is to all the multitouch features on mac os x lion! this is so much better than using the trackpad on my macbook air!
one small thing is that it slides around if you really push hard to drag your mouse around.
    good buy!

    A totally new computer experience

    • Written by from El Dorado Hills

I have to admit Magic Trackpad is one amazing accessory. I'm using this on an iMac running OS X: Lion and browsing the web and computer has never been as simple. I love the multi touch features: saves a lot of time (iOS like feeling) and helps keeping everything organized. I have new use for Mission Control (aka Spaces).

I recommend this to anyone, though I recommend keeping the mouse handy because you may find using it easier for graphic designing or gaming.

    Excellent Item

    • Written by from Santa Monica

When first setup, on my 24" iMac, the trackpad didn't work with two fingers in any direction. Quirky things happened like selecting text for no reason. Called Apple support and they couldn't fix. Returned item to store where it worked perfectly ????? Had very good service tech suggest I set up "New User" account in case I had some conflicting file or setting exist - that fixed the problem. And now, my Apple Trackpad is MAGIC

    Retire your mouse

    • Written by from Edgewood

Upgraded my 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo to Lion and wanted the benefit of the swipe features. I bought the track pad 2 days later. I can't believe how much faster and more precise the track pad performs. My wife took to the track pad immediately which is proof that it is designed with everyone in mind. Thanks Apple for another job well done.

    The future is HERE....

Wow. What a slick product. And now with Lion... unreal. Great product. Expected from Apple and they deliver. Takes a little getting used too... but when you do you won't ever want to go back to a mouse.

    Pandora's Trackpad

    • Written by from Highlands Ranch

The system is so elegant, it's like having a magical square that can control the whole feel of a Mac. Without it, many features become something more of a chore than what the Trackpad turns them into; with the the trackpad, it is so much easier to navigate, see, and interact with your applications than ever before. This device is much like Pandora's Box. In the box contained all pain, hate, and injustice. But in the bottom of this seeming evil device was the greatest emotion we can express...hope. That is what the Apple Trackpad represents, the hope from a world that is crowded with inefficiency and lack of originality. Keep it coming Apple!

    Better Than I Thought

    • Written by from Allentown

I thought this trackpad might be really awkward and unusable with my iMac, but boy was I wrong! This thing is great, it feels so natural. Mouse-users will get the hang of it quickly, I assure you. If you use/have used one of the more recent MacBooks with the glass trackpad, using this trackpad will be super easy. Great product, glad I bought this instead of the Magic Mouse!

Finally a trackpad for the desktop computer. And i love the size cause I always hate using the laptop ones... too small. If you are a destop and are upgrading your OS to Lion, the trackpad is a must!

    Awesome-o

    • Written by from Chicago

I have been contemplating buying the magic trackpad for almost a year now. I've put it off because I really don't need it, its an expensive luxury for my macbook. However, after Lion came out I was disappointed that my black 08 macbook did not support all the gestures, therefore, I had to get the trackpad. I've got to say, I've been missing out! This little thing is amazingly thin, very responsive, and feels cool using all the gestures. Why oh why have I put this off for so long? I will never use another mouse again! Great job Apple, keep up the great work.

    Great Invention!!

    • Written by from Dumfries

My family have several Macs and just one of them has the Magic Trackpad and I wish all of them would. Once you get used to this marvel returning to a regular mouse or even to the Magic Mouse is never the same. Besides that if you're working late at night the pad allows you to do it quietly instead of making noise tapping your pad as you do with the mouse. Best investment. I love it...

It's huge, not just it's surface and not in a bad way, but it just made my mac mini feel young again. Don't try Lion with out one. It is a different OS with than without.

Don't be deterred by the concept, it's a wonderful product!

    • Written by from Carlisle

I was hesitant to purchase a Magic Trackpad because I already had a Magic mouse, but for those of you who have a Magic Mouse, multitouch is second nature to said mouse (and with Lion [I have a dev. preview], it makes for a better experience to have a logical method of multitouch input). So I hustled on down to the Apple store and picked up a Magic Trackpad as well as the battery charger for my keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. I have to say, I have yet to be let down! The clicking actions feel thick and smooth, and tracking is a breeze with such a large surface. My only complaint is that if you go from using this to, say, a MacBook Pro's trackpad, you will notice your finger drag off the specified surface. Otherwise, highly recommend for anyone with intensive mouse use due to the ergonomically correct design of the Magic Trackpad.

Even more coming -- product great now

    • Written by from Brocton

Wow. I've been a PC user my whole life. I loved PC's but after I went to Buffalo's mac store, picked up an iMac, started using the Magic Trackpad and compared the two? WOW. This pad makes doing three things at once seem easy -- because it is! With the new update coming out soon more is coming. If you're worried about how this will compare to your beloved old mouse, you're wasting precious time using this product.

    Better than Trackball

    • Written by from Reading

After using this Trackpad for many months, I have finally decided to give my review on this product. This is an excellent upgrade from your standard mouse for the Mac OS and will get even better when Lion is released. While I have used all of Apple's mice in the past and also trackballs for Kensington, I feel this is far better.
I have used this in Illustrator as well as Photoshop, also Aperture and find I have great control within the programs. Love this and would recommend it to anyone.

    Outstanding

    • Written by from Kingwood

Typical Apple product: easy to set up (my 4th grader un-boxed it,read the instructions and had it working in 3 minutes) and it just works. Wonder why it took me this long to upgrade. One minor issue, I've found my wrist hurts after extensive use, but I've found simply using the other hand works well. The ergonomics of a Mighty Mouse versus the Trackpad is not better or worse, just different. Nice to rid myself of the the mouse pad. Very pleased yet another fabulous product.
