    Love and hate this one.

This product is very good and practical for all desktop users out there. With Magic Trackpad you can take advantage of multi gesture and other fancy stuff OSX offers. So I got one and loving it, but I never felt this device can replace my mouse. When it comes to do something like editing a picture I don't feel this device is sensitive enough, so I just use Magic Trackpad for day to day task like read emails and browse web and use Magic Mouse when I want to work. But still I cant live with or without it!!

    Awesome ... love it!!

This trackpad is really cool... got it for less than 24 hours and I am already hooked with it. Noticed that some people don't know how to turn off. Hold the ON button for more than 2-3 secs to OFF it.

Excellent if you are used to it

I have high end gaming mice that are very good for work (function assignments). However, I thought I would mix it up with a Trackpad. I have not experienced any of the issues listed like sweet spots or failure. It is just an extension of my MacbookPro. Out of the box and rock and roll. I even use Parallells with Windoze and it is great. Right-Click two finger tap and you can fly through Windoze apps. I suppose it is whatever you are used to but I like it.

    Poor Form.

    • Written by from Kingston Beach

My oldest boy has autism and as such my wife and I are incredibly busy. An iPad was recommended by his therapist as there are a number of apps that are really great for a kid in his situation (and i should add it's been awesome) . However after spending over $800 on an iPad, we're hardly going to buy a desktop as well. But no pointing device support for the iPad. This means it's way harder and slower than it needs to be to do the most basic computing tasks, there's support for a keyboard- why not pointing device? Seems a little greedy to ask people to buy iPods, phones, pads and laptops, when just one device COULD replace them all! Even without a visible cursor on the screen, a touchpad would make life so much easier!
    Poor form Apple.

    Better than a mouse

    • Written by from Plano

I'm a road warrior and have only worked from a laptop going on 16 years. I finally made room on my desk at home for a monitor so bought Apple keyboard and trackpad. Easy transition when I get the opportunity and no noise of a mouse being dragged across your desk. All the gestures like on the MBP.

    Favorite input device - ever!

    • Written by from Fort Worth

Once I started using this trackpad I couldn't go back to the magic mouse and I really liked that little gem too. You can set this trackpad up to be incredibly fast and gestures become immediately intuitive. No moving parts to worry about is nice. And I didn't have any issues with the Bluetooth set up at all.

Alkaline batteries seem to drain every two or three weeks so I use lithiums which last several months. This is a KEEPER!

    Changed my way of computing

    • Written by from Weston

I've been a geek since the 70's, and short of the first mouse I ever used, nothing changed my input technique as much as the Trackpad....ever. I would never go back to a mouse.

    Brilliant!

    One of apple's best!

    • Written by from boardman

The magic trackpad might just be the greatest accessory apple has made. I just recently purchased an iMac and instead of going with the magic mouse I chose this instead and have not regretted that decision for one minute. Its looks great but most importantly its functional. I have to run a lot of programs that require responsive and functional mice, (auto cad, rhino, photoshop, indesign, revit, sketch up, 3ds max, etc. by the way Im an architecture student) and this track pad knocks it out of the park. So if you are looking for something to run some serious programs or just to have a really cool mouse to show friends give this a shot I am almost certain you will love it. Plus it will feel like a natural transition from iPhone to your computer. Enjoy!

Far superior to the mouse in most situations

    • Written by from Greenville

I just purchased this item and already it is much easier to use than even the Magic Mouse. I will still keep my mouse for the few applications that require it, but I adore the trackpad. It is comfortable to use and the gestures, once you learn them, are highly intuitive. Finally a trackpad for a desktop computer! A+, Apple!

    Great bluetooth connectivity!

Although I love the Magic Mouse, the trackpad keeps the connection much further away than the mouse. I use this with my MacMini and TV and stream videos. Bigger surface too. Get it, you'll love it

    Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from Hutchinson

I'm not even remotely close to being as computer "savvy" as most people that post here. I don't know for sure how this thing works, and I don't care. In my opinion, it's the best thing since sliced bread. Buy it, connect it, read the instructions, then just play with it! My mouse is in the desk drawer, batteries removed.

    It's gorgeous and functional.

I wanted the trackpad because I wanted a desktop setup where my Macbook Air was attached to an external monitor. Since I was so pleased with the Air's trackpad, I decided the trackpad would be great for using at the desk. The trackpad works perfectly with OS X Lion, and now Mountain Lion. Once users have experienced what multi-gestures can do, they will find it hard to go back. I sure did. I think this hardware works flawlessly, and I'm glad I bought it. Using the Macbook Air at the desktop with anything else like a regular mouse would have felt clunky and slow.

I read many of the reviews regarding this new device, and don't understand why people are complaining. Must be PC People! Lol

Easy to setup, works just like a notebook pad and has more functionality.

    Trackpad = Magic

    • Written by from Mckinney

When Apple introduced this product, I thought they were crazy. I didn't think this product solved any real customer need. After trying it out in the store, I decided to buy one and play with it. After using it for the last year, I will *never* go back to a mouse again. I use one on my MBP & another on my MacMini. It really is Magic.

I bought the magic trackpad as a Christmas present for my parents. They use it with their iMac and love it! it has plenty of space to move your fingers and clicking does not take a lot of force. Battery life is really good, too.

yay for Apple getting it right!

    • Written by from VANCOUVER

have been an Apple fan for over a decade, but have always loathed their mouse. Even the newer Magic Mouse is a brick to move and is too large and heavy for the comfort of my hand & wrist. The Magic Trackpad is AMAZING though! The customization options really seal the deal for me. Now I can use über light touches to control and move the cursor. Working in Logic & Garageband is a beautiful thing with the trackpad, and much to my surprise so is Photoshop. Before I had to hear every click of the mouse, now there is nothing but QUIET! love, love, love- Apple is finally doing it right! Just say no to mouse.

    Love it!

    • Written by from framingham

Makes my sturdy old Mac Pro (2007) feel like new again. The gesture functionality works seamlessly, setup was painless and quick. Much less strain on my wrist, already bad after two decades of heavy mouse usage.

Dislikes: nothing yet, will update if I find anything.

Likes: Ease of setup. Ability to single and double click on pad (has to be setup in preferences), pinch and zoom (especially useful on large montors.

Can not be happier with the purchase.
