Really nice...unless you are working on Word, Powerpoint or Excel

    • Written by from 秦野市

I really loved my magic mouse first time I got it. It was an amazing piece of technology.... until I started to use it on microsoft Office. Its absolutely difficult to use it in powerpoint when you making slides, because it starts behaving erratically. It starts jumping from one slide to another erratically...also does the same in word and Excel. Extremely difficult to control. I turned off the inertia option in the mouse preferences, hoping it would solve the problem...but no! The same problem happens with Adobe photoshop too. I behaves well with web browser. I wanted to give this mouse 5 stars first....but now maybe just 2 or even 1. Sad...specially since its from apple. Disappointed.

    CAUTION PRO USERS

    • Written by from Albuquerque

I love Apple products and ordered this beautiful mouse only to discover that it is completely unusable in the software I spend my whole day using. First off, the Bluetooth connectivity with my MacPro is a disaster. The cursor jitters and stops and starts all of the time. I cant get a precise click on any object I'm going for. But the worst of it is the ultra-sensitive touch surface. I find the screen sliding all over and zooming in and out constantly. Beware Adobe users, this will slow your productivity down to the point of pure frustration.

BTW, I've tried 2 Magic Mice with the same results. Back to the Mighty Mouse I go…

Awful. Glad to be rid of it.

    • Written by from Frederick

After dealing with the awful thing I am finally rid of it and thrilled to have a Logitech mouse with real buttons. The Magic Mouse is wildly oversensitive - look at it funny and you're on a page you had no intention of going to. I really did try to live with it but it made trying to do anything online a nightmare. It's an elegant concept, but badly, badly executed. Worst Apple product I ever owned with the possible exception of the latest iPod Nano...

    Gimmicks over useability

    • Written by from southminster

The touch element of this product is erratic to the point of being unusable. Even with a third party app used to decrease sensitivity and remove some of the unnecessary gestures, this mouse is still completely useless in a large number of programs. It is also difficult to use with with google maps and other programs that require the user to click and drag.

This mouse is completely incompatible with Adobe creative Suite software.

The worst piece of Apple hardware i've used to date.

    Unreliable connection

    • Written by from Newton

The mouse loses its Bluetooth connection roughly once an hour. Replacing the batteries doesn't help; it's just a fundamentally unreliable piece of hardware. I keep a trackpad handy and the mouse system preferences open at all times so I can reconnect it. I'm pretty much ready to buy a USB mouse and throw this in the trash. Apple should make a USB Magic Mouse in order to combine reliability and multitouch functionality.

    Bravo To Apple

Finally a wireless mouse that works great. I have had previous apple mice that I had to force apart to clean the scroll wheel then glue back together. This one I have had for two months now and it has caused me no problems. I like its design and it's special features. It took you some time but it looks as if you got it right this time.

    Good Mouse

    • Written by from Noblesville

This mouse is extremely sleek and low profile, but once again Apple has designed it for style and not comfort. The mouse did not slide well on my granite counter top, so I placed a mouse pad underneath and it worked like a breeze. Absolutely no connection problems whatsoever. Overall, good mouse and I would recommend the mouse to any friend.

    Mediocre at best

    • Written by from Eastern Passage

Design-wise this mouse is as good as it gets, and the functionality is great (scrolling and gestures work well). There are however a few things wrong with this mouse, one key issue for me is battery life. I am lucky to get a week using regular batteries, so I purchased a Mobee charger (which is another story... lol). Another issue is if you play any games at all. I'm not a huge gamer but if I want to pop open Batman and play for a few minutes once a month, I'd like to have a mouse that can handle games in a decent manner which is definitely not this one - this mouse is super hard to control for gaming.

Overall it's a great mouse for very light computer users, but not for users who rely on their computer for any advanced tasks at all.

    Simply amazing!

    • Written by from Matthews

After using the mouse provided with my iMac 7+ years ago, I finally caved in and bought a new mouse. I'm glad I waited! The magic mouse is amazing! It's slim, and definitely made for smaller hands. I find it hard to use the wireless mouse I have for my MacBook since that one is so clunky.

I was iffy at first from reading the reviews, but after going into the store, I instantly fell in love. Having no scroll wheel is wonderful and being able to flip through pages you looked at last with a swipe of your finger is an added bonus.

And rechargeable batteries are included. I do not regret this purchase at all. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I even plan on buying another one for my MacBook.

    Giving Up

    • Written by from Charlotte

After a year of constantly replacing batteries (yes, many battery changes in a year) I have to throw in the towel. The mouse constantly loses connection. It is beyond frustrating to have to jimmy it around and hope that it finds its way again so I can finish whatever task I am working on.
My Office Manager jokes that MM is either having a good day or a bad day. And unfortunately for us, it's a bad day 5 days out of 7.
I thought I might have gotten a lemon but it seems other Apple MM users are experiencing the same problems.
Also, I have started using it for a drawing program and it is impossible to control fine, fine detail being that the speed is jumpy.
So sad for us that we will be going back to unattractive but functional (and most likely) old school mice.
Please Apple, find a way to improve upon this good looking but non functioning mouse.

This mouse is really easy to use and gives me so many features that i wish i had before. I was worried about the lack of scroll ball but it was still great. I can only complain about the "natural scrolling" but that can be disabled. I love how the shape is comfortable and feels like Im using a iphone as a mouse. never had connection problems in 2 years.

    Complete piece of junk!

    • Written by from Edmonton

Mine was getting disconnected fairly frequently, like 1-5 times a week for months. Now it just doesn't work and will not be discovered by Bluetooth even though it has fully-charged Apple AA batteries.
Apple, why can't you just make a wired USB version?!?!?

    My Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Sylvania

I bought the Magic Mouse this past saturday and absolutely love it. It only took a few minutes to hook it up and it definitely has a good feel in the hand. I'm a design major in college and use Adobe programs a lot and have heard this mouse wasn't very good for it. Well I'll tell you what I used it for four different projects over the weekend and it worked just fine. As long as you turn the scroll speed down and the momentum setting for the mouse off you'll have no problem with the Adobe programs. I would recommend this product to any Mac user looking to replace there USB mouse with the roller ball that tends to break. Its definitely a good investment.

    Another great mouse from Apple!

    • Written by from Rehoboth

Bought this magic mouse to replace my bluetooth mighty mouse. The new mouse is amazingly more superior to the older mouses, and the removal of trackball for finger motion is amazing. The lack of a trackball also avoids the problems with previous mouses with clogging of dirt.

Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice, sleek peripheral, especially if trying to keep an all Apple look.
