I do a lot of formatting work in documents, so I need a mouse. I also have tendonitis in both wrists. This mouse is comfortable, but I've only had it about 40 days and have had to change the batteries twice already--ridiculous! Also, the mouse goes wonky. Not zippy mouse, more stuck mouse. The way an optical mouse does if something gets in the optic part. Only there's nothing in this. Not impressed, and Apple impressed me with everything else when I bought my MacBook Air.

The Magic Mouse has come along after all these years of the inferior Mighty Mouse, which after three months of use never scrolled properly again - thank you, Logitech, for an excellent replacement. By comparison, the Magic Mouse is far superior to its Mighty cousin. But on its own merits, it's a disappointment. Mousing, tracking, and scrolling work beautifully. Even the right click is wonderful. But after 15 minutes of testing at the Apple Store this morning, I couldn't get comfortable with the two finger swipe gesture. The unit is too small and too unstable on the desk. Add to that, the fact that my hand actually ached after use. If you think you're going to sit at your desk and just swipe away on this thing, forget it. Swiping is awkward for the hand because you have to grab and steady this too-light mouse with your remaining fingers, forming a painfully tight tiger's paw. I can't imagine the exhaustion this will cause after an entire day of working on the computer. It's a wonderful novelty if you have 70 bucks to spend on a novelty, but I don't - I need a mouse that does it all.

Why can't Apple simply produce a stand alone version of its laptop glass trackpads? We would get all of those wonderfully evolved multi-touch finger gestures AND a comfortable, almost effortless work position.

Apple, please, PLEASE give us a better driver for this thing! I wanted so much to love it. Love the cool looks of this mouse. Make no mistake, it's far better than the positively AWFUL Mighty Mouse (even with the missing buttons) - unless you like paying $80 a year to replace your Bluetooth mouse because there's NO cleaning it. Don't care what support "recommends". I had such high hopes for the Magic Mouse. Alas, it's only "semi-awesome". Pointer control is WAY too slow. Scrolling is jerky (on a GOOD day) and what's up with the random, wandering horizontal scrolling? (Especially noticeable in iTunes.) At first I though it was ME being lazy, but it does it all on its own - even when I'm NOT touching the mouse. It's not entirely unusable, but I'm ready to go back to my cheapo Logitech out of frustration. Form over function does NOT cut it on such a crucial input device. So UN-Apple-like! Sorry, guys. FAIL!

I love the way the mouse functions, no disappointment there. The negative is that I probably use this mouse 40-50 hours a week, and the batteries need to be replaced every 3-4 weeks. My previous mouse was a Logitech wireless mouse and I needed to replace the batteries once every 9 months or so.

If you're keen on constantly replacing batteries, this is the mouse for you.

this mouse is only good for normal use if you a gamer like me this is rally bad when gaming the mouse cant clearly pick up what side your clicking right or left. this mouse is good for normal browsing and looks quite nice but its vary small and low to the ground with make you hand grind in the ground and can be vary irritating at times. overall a good mouse(only cuz it looks good)

so you absolutely must have a soft top mouse pad...nothing slick.
and while i love the swipe motion, there are some issues with posturing, where if you are holding it on the side too far up the page will just shake.
also, sometimes the swipe is too sensitive and you loose information, say on a payment page, or while writing an email.

also the battery drains so fast!

The mouse functions are just great, but it's too small for my hand. I'm a man 186 cm/6,1 foot tall, with what I guess is normal big hands for my height.

I have to pinch my hand to hold the small thing, and pressing the thumb and the little finger together like only makes my hand hurt, and moving back to the good old Logitech mouse is a real relief.

This is a mouse sized for women and kids, not for men. I wonder how many Apple employees who either use a Logitech, or choose to suffer with their undersized apple-mouse.

The design is cool it is really pleasant to use as a wireless mouse but there is two problem it is thin which might not be comfortable for using and the connection bluetooth keeps disconnecting after a amount of time you use it like half and hour...want to buy it? THINK TWICE

The swipe is great. The multi button is great. The scroll zoom is HORRIBLE!

I use Cinema 4D and other 3D modeling as well as a lot of Adobe products. This mouse loves to zoom to infinite levels in a project if you so much as look at it wrong.

If that "flick scroll, infinite zoom" thing can be fixed, it would be an easy 5 stars.......but because it is SO annoying, only 3 stars ( and that is generous!)
