    Constantly disconnecting

    • Written by from Lewisham

I have had problems since I got it. It's fine when it works but it stops working at 10% battery & has had trouble connecting since I got it out of the box.

    Apple Magic Mouse

    • Written by from Fort McMurray

Did not like this mouse at all!! Had high hopes for it because I absolutely LOVE my MacBook Pro.. It was slow and the mouse hardly moved around the screen.. I thought it was because of the surface I was on but I moved to several different surfaces and it was the same for all of them, not happy because the mouse is expensive too!

    Don't waste your money!!!

    • Written by from East Wenatchee

This mouse is horrible. It looks pretty, I'll give it that, but theres not much else to say for it.

The surface on the bottom of the mouse is horrible, makes a scraping noise on whatever surface you use the mouse on.

No dark field laser, so can't use it on a glass desk without a mousepad.

Ergonomically it is horrendous - will certainly cause carpal tunnel in no time.

You can't rest your hand on the mouse like you can with normal mice. If you do, you will get sporadic scrolling and zooming. This requires you to basically hold your whole arm up in the air to operate the mouse. Even resting a single finger on the mouse will cause random scrolling issues.

20% of the time the scrolling doesn't even respond for a few seconds.

Overall this mouse is plain unsafe to use, unless of course you like chronic pain in your arm for the rest of your life.

Buy a magic trackpad instead, they're great!

With Acceleration = 1 Star VS. Without Acceleration = 5 Stars

    • Written by from Cambridge

The fact that this mouse does not allow users to turn off the "acceleration" component makes it virtually useless for 99% of users. That 1% would likely only be comprised of monks and people who have never experienced a traditional mouse without acceleration.

It's not like when Apple released the MacBook Air - where everyone complained of the missing optical drive before realizing that they no longer needed it. (Although if you want to make that analogy, let us not forget that Apple at least gives users the option to purchase an optical drive add-on). This is more analogous to when Apple released their version of the internet with Apple e-World in order to compete with AOL. It failed. Apple pulled the plug on e-World and opted to instead develop a Mac client for AOL.

We're not asking that you pull the plug on the acceleration aspect of the Mac, just that you give us the ability to choose a non-accelerating option.

    It's definitely magical!

    • Written by from New York

    Oh so magical…

While using Google Maps, it magically zooms in and out all the time. Even when you don't want it to! (Especially when you don't want it too!)

Pages and windows are magically swiped away when you least expect it.

I wish my magic mouse could magically take me back in time to when I bought my MacPro and make me decide not get it. It's way too sensitive to touch and does stuff you don't want it to all the time. Unless you are really, really careful, Google Maps is unusable with this mouse.

    Other than that, it's great.

    Amazing...if it's working

    • Written by from Carlsbad

Multi touch features are obviously incredible and it's a pleasure to use. However, if you use it for about a year it just stops working. It seems to be made cheaply and I would really expect a lot more from an apple product. This mouse is a great idea but it is built at a quality worth half of what they are selling it for. Unless you are willing to replace this mouse annually, get a different one.

    No reliability

    • Written by from Tangerang Selatan

at first, i was amazed with this magic mouse, less than a year it was broken. Since i like it, i bought myself a new one, but it was broken again, less than six months, and cannot be fixed. Come on this is a good product, put some reliability on it...

    Horrible mouse.

    • Written by from CENTERVILLE

This mouse is horrible and so frustrating. It looses connection constantly and interrupts my work all day long as there is no mouse-to-computer communication when it happens. It takes some jiggling, waiting, begging and fancy footwork to get it to connect again. It also slides my pages around the computer without me doing it. All of a sudden my page is swiped away. Often I can get it back; sometimes I cannot. This is a huge time waster as is the connection issue. I would return it but the cord is too short on my only other (Apple) mouse and I can't go without a mouse right now so I am stuck with it. What a waste of money. I do not recommend this product at all.

    Worthless piece of junk.

    • Written by from La Honda

This bluetooth mouse isn't worth the money I paid for it. It constantly looses connection (in use no more than 12 inches from my Mac Mini). I have changed the battery numerous times. Turned it off, turned it on, swiped it on different surfaces. Nothing helps. I've gone back to using the USB mouse I had before. Thank goodness I didn't toss that.

    S*#t Product

    • Written by from Richmond

The 'magic' mouse is S&#T! My iMac is almost two years old, and this weekend is the FOURTH time I will be going back to Apple to have it replaced. Lucky (if one could call it that) the first three were replaced free of charge by Apple here in Sydney. Keeps cutting off even with fresh batteries, very frustrating. Using my old corded mouse for now, helluva' lot better.

    Magic mouse

    • Written by from Aguadilla

I have used up to date 2 magic mouse. Like other users have also shared, this mouse works great but both of mine have stopped working before a year of use. The mouse is expensive to be replacing it every year. Also when it does work it tends to disconnect frequently and this is a very frustration situation. I don't know if the track pad is better or not but I will be trying that next or use an aftermarket mouse to do the job.

Surprised by all the positive reviews

    • Written by from Northridge

I am surprised by all the positive reviews. The connection is lost every few minutes which makes working with Excel sheets a nightmare. I continually need to wait until the mouse connects again. Will be returning to the the standard mouse so that I can finish my work without swearing every 3 minutes

    Completely Unreliable

    • Written by from HUNTINGTON BEACH

I loved this mouse so much that when my first one stopped working after a year (and yes, the batteries were fully charged) I purchased a new one. Now, less than a year into the new one, it has completely stopped working as well. While it appears to be connected and fully charged according to my system preferences, and it does scroll, when moving the mouse on the pad, nothing happens. Same exact issue I had with the first one. I love the functionality of this mouse, and since I have small hands it is much more comfortable than the regular mouse. They are just way too expensive to keep replacing every year!

    A complete waste of money!

    • Written by from Decatur

I had this mouse for a couple of days, and it started to hurt my hand. On top of that, it is so unbelievably unreliable and will disconnect randomly. It's just a gimmick, in my opinion.

the most disappointing product apple has ever made

    • Written by from Shiloh

Could be phenomenal, but... like so many here have said, the lag and stuttering makes me want to throw it against the wall. I don't have disconnects, but, everytime anything that happens in the background (drive access, wireless access, etc) occurs this thing just stutters and spits and doesn't move or moves randomly. They really need to address this. I wish I could get my money back. I loved my mouse with my wacom tablet, but those suffer from other dependabilty issues (switch bounce)
