As a Designer I use Adobe software throughout my work day. I find that the quality of the magic mouse is far superior than any other. My complaint lies with the trackpad multi-touch capability. Within Adobe software, as you graze your finger across the mouse it flings your workspace across the screen. I find that I am constantly having to reposition my work. I rely far too heavily on cmd+0 to re-center my work. Not to mention, as I attempt to duplicate objects or text boxes the screen zooms at random (by holding alt to select and drag – my finger changes position on the mouse). I refuse to purchase another Mighty Mouse as I have already gone through three of them, due to the trackball no longer working. This magic mouse has the capability to be the best, however, it causes frustrations at a level not previously experienced. What I mentioned above are only a couple issues related to using the mouse in a production environment.

Mouse came with new iMac. I think the battery life stinks. Also the sensitivity is bad, it seems that if there is just a bit of dirt or dust on the surface it doesn't perform as it should. The wife hates the scroll and won't even use her fingers on it because it's too sensitive for her. Basically a failure in my opinion.

I bought this mouse 3.5 years ago with my iMac and haven't had any complaints since. the gestures work as advertised, and are quite intuitive for first time users. I can breeze through multiple web pages/applications/screens with this mouse. There has been no technical difficulties, the mouse still works like the first day I bought it

I've had my magic mouse for years, and now that it has gone missing I'm buying another.

I've had no bluetooth connectivity problems at all. If I switch the mouse off when I've finished work my battery changeout time is rather good. Periods when I do not switch off the mouse lead to battery changeout of every 4 or 5 weeks.

The fact that it loses its blue tooth connection EVERY 10 seconds to maybe a minute, is magic. Just to get to this spot in the review took 20 minutes! I am disabled so to return it would have been a hassle. When I first got the not so magic mouse, I came here looking for answers and at one point thought I did find an answer. I followed the directions and it did work better…for one day. Now it has gotten so bad that I was forced to buy a different mouse, which I did and am waiting for the delivery. If I could have given a rating of no stars, I would have. So save your money and the aggravation and get yourself a different Mac compatible mouse! BTW, I know 2 people who threw theirs out!

First off I see a lot of reviews about how bad it tracks. That is the one thing it does superior to any mouse I've ever used. The trick for me was to throw away the mouse pad and just use it directly on my desk. Then it is very precise, fluid and responsive. The vertical scrolling is very smooth and linear. First bad thing is battery life. I wanted to say more but I'm tired of seeing the red message saying some of my words cannot be published. I've edited until I'm blue in the face and used two programs to make sure I'm under 300 words. A little more feedback on what words or a word counter would be helpful.

I downloaded software and connected without problems. Momentum scrolling is possible by using terminal application. just search for it. Works really good on my old powerbook g4, I like the momentum scrolling. Would have given it a 5 but software doesnt include the option for momentum scrolling.

I really didn't want to like it because of the price and I thought the trackpad on my new MacBook Air would be sufficient. But after a week of use I love this mouse. It is ergonomically superior to other mice I have used and it is really responsive. The built in touch features mimic the trackpad functions and it is super convenient. Besides the price it really is a great product.

This mouse is a must have for any mac owner. I have a macbook pro and have found it essential for creating playlists, drag and drop features. if you are put off by the price, my advice is just buy it and you will soon forget how much you paid for it when you see what a fantastic product it it. Thanks Apple!

A lot of people complain about the ergonomics. I've never personally had a problem with the ergonomics because I stop using it out of frustration long before any physical discomfort can set in. The acceleration/deceleration is poor - shocking in fact. When slowing down it's like moving the cursor through lumpy molasses. And then you find you've run out of room and need to pick the thing up in order to continue the movement because you haven't quite reached where you needed to go.

"built-in software lets you configure Magic Mouse any way you want" the synopsis on this site tells us. This is simply not true. For example, the acceleration isn't adjustable in the default settings. Why, why, why? You can change this setting in the terminal which helps somewhat but this doesn't fix the problem of its inexact, jittery movement to begin with. This, it turns out, can be partially remedied with a mouse pad that my 6 year old $15 mouse never needed. I suspect the rest of its jitters is down to the bluetooth connection (an overrated technology if there ever was one).

On the plus side, the gestures work well and it is nice to look at.

Poor, Apple, poor. Your marketing department sure can sell a story though. All style, no substance.

Buy this mouse only if you don't mind troubleshooting, workarounds and compromises.
