The best keyboard I have ever used!

    • Written by from Eugene

I originally purchased this keyboard (over a year ago) to go with my MacBook as I prefer not to use the laptop keyboard. I have used it on windows xp and more recently windows 7 in addition to Leopard and Snow Leopard. No problems with it ever. It is super comfortable to type on and very easy to keep clean. I have used loads of different keyboards in nearly every price range and this one beats them all. (If they sold them at office max so I could get one to use at work, that would be great.)

    Excellent Keyboard!!! Highly Recommended!!!

    • Written by from Scarsdale

I purchased this keyboard when it was first released, I think about 2 years ago now. Not a single problem with it so far. I clean it periodically with iKlear and a microfiber towel. Some of the commonly used keys and the space bar have developed a bit of a shine from constant use. The keys "feel" great - very easy to use, the spring pressure feels very natural for me. The super thin design means less stress on your hands and wrists, and easier all day use. If you are looking for a really great replacement keyboard at a reasonable price, this is a solid choice.

    Two small requests...

I think it would be great to have 2 USB ports on the front to each side of the cable, like the previous generation keyboard. Perhaps even a total of 4 USB ports. That being said, I rarely use the USB ports because they are a bit difficult to access on the side.

I would really LOVE to have this keyboard in black and silver to match my iMac better, and to have the option for back lit keys like the Macbook Pro's have. Black and silver would be nice, with selectable back lighting would be super. On/off, adjustable brightness - maybe a few LED color choices like white, blue, red, green - depending on your conditions or mood. White for general purpose, red for stealthy operations, blue for that cool electric modern feel, green because geniuses pick green :-)

    Great

Great keyboard and designed to the standard you would expect from Apple. Now thanks to the review column it also allows me the opportunity to laugh at all the no0bs who actually expected the usb ports to support high powered devices, do some research first.

20 years of programming, my favorite so far

    • Written by from Mill Valley

I wouldn't mind a wireless version with the extended key set, but wired is fine for me. Also, some may prefer a keyboard that works a little better with wrist supports. For me, however, this is the finest keyboard I've used so far. The keys feel solid and respond excellently, it's quiet, and minimally designed. No extra junk keys plastered about, no bright LEDs, no software drivers or configuration, just a great feeling keyboard!

    Amazing Keyboard!

    • Written by from O FALLON

This keyboard is a great addition to anyone Mac or PC. I use this keyboard with my macbook pro 15" when I am at home at the desk. The full layout and number keypad are the best! I use iWork software a lot and the keyboard is a breeze to type on. It is so compact and it makes my desk look a lot nicer to! The USB ports on the sides power my mouse and will charge and sync my iPod Touch. The wireless keyboard can't do that because it is battery powered! 5 Stars for an amazing, compact, and large keys!

    Great Keyboard!

    • Written by from New York

This is a great keyboard. I am able to plug an external hard drive into the USB port on the keyboard and my MacBook recognizes the hard drive. Very high-powered. Keys are crisp and responsive... the only con is that it's so light that it slides around my desk.

    Great for my Purpose!

    • Written by from Neptune Beach

OK, I really just wanted a Numeric Keypad for my 15" MacBook Pro. At $49 I thought the full keyboard might be appropriate. I had a Targa USB from an old LapTop that didn't operate correctly. When I got this keyboard I was pleasantly surprised. It has two Hi Speed USB ports on either side, and since it's tucked out of site on either side of the keyboard. Apple even included an extension cable if you wanted to plug something in that couldn't be tucked tight under the keyboard. Everything feels quality. The finish matches my macbook pro exactly, and I can rest it directly over my keyboard and still access my touch pad.

Excellent feel, light touch, lovely design. What more is there to say? This is the first time in half a decade that I haven't missed my ancient full-size Apple ADB keyboard.

    Great Keyboard

    • Written by from Hemet

This is a VERY nice keyboard. I got it with my mac (instead of the wireless one) and I have no complaints! It's light, quiet, and has a nice feel. Compared to other keyboards out there, it's very sleek and simple. It may not have all the extra buttons, but it makes up for it! It may be one of the bigger apple keyboards, but next to a PC keyboard, it looks pretty thin. I've had a key fall off, but that was my own fault, and I'm getting it replaced. I definitely recommend this keyboard!

    Absolutely fantastic keyboard

    • Written by from Dearborn

Being a writer my keyboard gets a lot of use, in fact the only reason I needed a new keyboard was due to the fact that I had worn the letters off my brand name keyboard that cost as much as the apple.
Wearing the letters off is not a problem for me, but for my wife, it is a big problem.
So I decided to order this keyboard and I can not tell you how happy I am. It has taken only a couple days to get used to it and now I would never giver it up.

The feel of the keys is wonderful. Very responsive. They do not feel "touchy" nor do they require a lot of force. The feel of the flat surface of the key is a bit different and they feel smooth and pleasant.

I am a rather fast typer and I find that with this key board I am typing faster and lighter than I have ever been able to do before.

So in short, this is a fantastic keyboard. It looks and feels great. I could not ask for more.

    love it or hate it

    • Written by from Olathe

This keyboard came with my iMac I purchased a year and a half ago. At first I was taken aback by the typing feel, but after a day or two, I couldn't go back to my split, ergonomically correct PC keyboard. I type quickly and accurately and love the feel. The USB ports are a little unhandy, but a hub fixed that. That was the only drawback that I could think of. As far as getting sticky keys if something is spilled on it, well jeezo-pete, it is a keyboard. I have a bad habit of eating at the computer and try to be careful about crumbs and sticky stuff finding its way to my keyboard. I never type on my lap because a cat frequently occupies that spot. So I find typing at the computer desk very comfortable and efficient. Keyboards and mice are very personal, and just because I love this one, you may not. If you can, try it out first.

    A big surprise.

    • Written by from Corona

Keyboards are fairly personal items, and what I like others may not. I was use to a keyboard with standard-type key structure and feel, so when I took a look at this slab of aluminum with flat, chicklet keys, I said a silent, "oh oh". Within 5 minutes of using it, my "oh oh" became "wow!"

For me, the test of any keyboard is how well I can type on it. There is no doubt that I type much, much faster with far less mistakes than I did on any keyboard previous to this one. It's almost effortless, and I do a tremendous amount of writing.

There is only one thing I found that was a minor annoyance. I find that the USB ports are much harder to get to than on the older standard-type Apple keyboards. I sometimes pop in a flash drive, but to do so regularly is cumbersome (I need to pick up the keyboard and turn it over to accomplish this simple task). This really isn't a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. And since I've added a USB hub, I now only use the keyboard USB ports for the mouse.

Prefer this over the wireless keyboard

    • Written by from Concord

Last week, I picked up the new Wireless Mouse and Wireless Keyboard. I was not sure if having a smaller keyboard without a numeric keypad would be worth the benefit of having a wireless keyboard. After trying it out for a week, I returned the wireless keyboard for the wired keyboard with Numeric keypad. I do a lot of work with Numbers/Excel and other financial programs, and it was too difficult for me to use the number keys at the top. It is just a personal preference. Both keyboards are awesome. I love the short keys....they make it so easy to type and so quiet too. I do not have a problem typing lengthy documents quickly even though the keys are flat. Some people may be bothered by the flat keys, but they work fine for me as long as you start your hands properly in the home position. You will love either of these great Apple keyboards, but if you type a lot of numbers, you might just want to stick with the wired version and make your life easier. Even with the wire, the new keyboard is a sleek, streamlined and minimal looking addition to my already-beautiful looking iMac.

    Great Keyboard For Some

    • Written by from Mission Viejo

I bought this along with a Samsung monitor to create a desktop for my MacBook Pro. Many people complain it doesn't type well, etc, but when you actually type correctly it works great. The key depth is perfect to type quickly and the 2 USB connectors are convenient and useful. Overall, a great keyboard when you type like a normal person would, NOT ON YOUR LAP!!

I love it. I prefer it over the smaller, newer keyboard, regardless of the BlueTooth capability. It makes a very big difference over the speed of your typing. I love it. Greta buy. Great investment for a typist or writer.
