it's a good buy...but...

There's a good bulk of instruments...but many of the drum kits are not all that distinct from each other and contain a lot of the same sounds in different combinations...I've gotten a lot cooler and more extensive sample packs (40 kick drums, 30 snares etc) in .wav format for certain genres (ambient or dnb) in the past for 100 bucks...but it's still a good buy overall.

I'm about to buy this product. One thing people need to know is that these packs are not to be relied on one hundred percent. These are to help people get a good feel of music and try things out. Have fun with them but be sure to use actual instruments and learn music along with the jam packs. And if you are only getting sound out of one side, it's probably because you recorded in stereo and not mono. The great thing about a Mac is that they are nearly fool proof.

Great, but not good for the Trance artist.

Ok. I am impressed and unimpressed with the features, as they seem to suit the needs of most non-trance artists, but Trance was really left out in this Jam Pack. Perhaps you should include a Trance Jam Pack in your line up of Jam Packs, otherwise, this is decent.

Some great stuff, but some not too great stuff

Bought the remix tools, and have to say, some great stuff... but everything is about the same beat...
There are almost no single drum sounds either... The ones
that are there, sound really poor ( there are just 2 poor
sounding kik single drum sounds ) a few weak cymbals, and
no single cowbells....among other things... I'm sure I can use the sounds, but imagine an album with 12 cuts with all the same beat....it's time for a headache pill !
I wish when techs up at the top of apple create this stuff, or review it...really try to use this stuff...
I bet they don't... maybe they will call me to discuss why I'm not too happy....

this is my first jam pack purchase and i'm completely satisfied. i was a little hesitant to buy at first but i'm so glad that i did. this pack has tons of loops and kits. i use logic express 8 and i can manipulate all the loops and kits with the effects in logic to get whatever sound i want. i love it.

I absolutely love this jam pack. I have the desire to create my own techno music and some really cool beats for videos and other things, and with all the synth sounds and new beats, this is a fabulous way to get those sounds I've been longing for since Garage Band came out. Recommend Highly!!

Pretty Sweet

This is a really sweet buy. I love this pack because I mostly dabble in techno. The percussion section is sweet! There are plenty of really cool beats and sounds you can make out of the drums they provide. Also, there are really cool sound effects, but they seem to repeat themselves too much. When it comes to the musical instruments, there are some really cool sounds you can make out of the provided instruments. However, I was hoping for an ATB or Darude style of trance, but I was let down. But, overall, his is definitely worth it.

answer to your problem

When recording your track your recording in mono the default is stereo so to switch press the i icon then details were you see channel 1&2 stereo switch to mono or convert your signal to stereo.

As for this jam pack great for synth stabs drum sounds and great loops pity garage band hasn't got a sequencer to trigger the great Roland 808 & 909 sounds lots of fun for anybody creating dance electro music

i think the jampack is brilliant, still getting used to using the garageband though. i have attached a microphone to record vocals, and when i play it bac, it only comes ut of the left speaker???? it only seems to be recording on one of the track volume level bars as well? dont suppose anyone can help?

An overwhelming amount of material to work with! I don't even know where to start. The possibilities are endless and I can't wait to really sink my teeth into all the great beats and instruments. I've been able to incorporate some of the drums and other effects in a couple songs I've already written and recorded with guitar. Now I'm trying to start from scratch to make my own house style songs and incorporating live guitar and bass. Awesome material to work with.

Yes, I will admit, this a good product with a large variety and selection, but Native Instruments is way better! Download or Buy The Native Instruments Komplete Pack, you will not be dis-satisfied!

I have produced 8 tunes since purchasing this product and have preview each tune to a group of friends. When my friends hear the tunes they can hardly believe that they were produced on my Mac with me playing software instruments on my computer keyboard. My Mac main purpose is now to produce electronica.

This Jam Pack is AMAZING! There are so many different Apple Loops (aka different sounds) to choose from! Installation was very quik and easy, the Apple Loops popped up immediatly and I am one happy customer! If you like Techno, Electronic. Electronica and Dance, this is for you.

It descibes itself exactly how you imagine it. When I first began to browse the "synth" loop section I was awestruck, but when I started to browse the "beats" loop section it was absolutely overwhelming (although there may be problems with the 2-step loops). The new instruments are fantastic. The Roland drum machines are great. It does come with a LOT of extra chord synths. If you thought you were livin' with standard GarageBand, you are sadly mistaken. You could listen to either 2Pac or Daft Punk and still be able to find the stuff you love within it's contents. Remix Tools is priced for $100 even though its value is $300!
